All Cat wants out of her life was her dream job, her dream man, and her favorite coffee. She could settle for one out of three, right?

Self-diagnosed coffee addict Cat Coleman believes her hard work as an unpaid intern for an entire year at a highly reputable interior design firm pays off when she excitedly accepts a full-time position with the company. However, instead of shadowing veteran designers, she's still sorting and delivering mail and making coffee runs. She simply went from unpaid intern to being the boss' personal assistant.

When a very grown-up and seriously sexy David Greenlaw from her Minnesota hometown begins an internship in the same business building, Cat tries to resist his boyish charms and flirty smiles. Because she knows his deceptively evil older sister, Gail, who made Cat's high school years a living nightmare, would happily pick up where she left off and tear down the new life she built.

Cat desperately wants to trust her heart and David's promises, but she distrusts Gail and her fake sweet smiles even more. When David's loyalty is tested, should Cat trust him to make the right decision or should she sacrifice her own happiness to ensure his?

I never thought about publishing BITTERSWEET CONFESSIONS -- formerly known as First Comes Coffee and then But First, Coffee -- because the novella had been part of the 2020 ONC and I knew it wasn't greatest piece of literature ever written. But as I started the path to publishing one of my other books, SWEET SURRENDER, I became overwhelmed very quickly with all the necessary work. I wasn't afraid to put in hours and hours and hours of rewrites and edits -- I just didn't want to now.

But I still wanted to dip my feet into the world of publishing because I wanted to hold something that was mine. So, I thought about First Comes Coffee and how I tentatively planned a sequel. The more I thought about publishing my novella, the more excited I became, especially when I decided it was the first book in a series called COFFEE NOW WINE LATER. Clever, eh? I thought so.

With encouragement from my friends and other writers, I renamed the book, BITTERSWEET CONFESSIONS, and started with rewrites and edits. Holy cow! Deciding to publish a novella instead of a full-length novel was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. Seriously. Editing 12 chapters was a piece of cake compared to 30 or more. Not to mention, the rewrites made the book even better -- added more depth and a few more layers and deleted a bunch of unnecessary stuff.

The first edited chapter is available here, but the rest of the book is available at Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and other online stores. Just search for Chessa Andersen (don't forget SEN) or Bittersweet Confessions. Thank you so much for your support!
