Dreamless sleep persists
Constant tossing and turning
I scroll down a short list
For what my heart is yearning
To be certain of love, to win
To hold and be cherished
To never have to search again
To not let that bright light perish
I wish this was my ego talking
I wish I was being unfair
But instead it's like I'm sleepwalking
And this lot is my burden to bear
This one hurts indescribably
I swear something was there
My heart aches undesirably
As I come up and gasp for air
I plant my bush in place of the last one
Giving it fertilizer and love in doses
After this downpour I pray for Sun
Because I deserve roses
