Amanda Hicks was exactly where she wanted to be in her high school life three days before her sophomore year started. She was dating one of the greatest guys in the entire school (Alexander Moretti: a junior on the Varsity football team). She had all the friends she needed and everything was just...too perfect. Things start to go awry when her ex-boyfriend that almost ruined her moves in next door. Two days later, her best friend, Caroline, is murdered the night before the first day of school. Caroline's last words: "I'm sorry I couldn't kill him. Don't let them win like I did." Although the police ruled it as a mugging gone wrong, Amanda found evidence that says otherwise: Alexander. But why? Is Alexander really too good to be true? Or is there something going on that he's not telling her?
