❝ Through the eyes can one free themselves from suffering; thus from the body can they be free of all earthly ties. But at the cost of one's own soul may he walk among gods, and in his absence may he find truth. ❞ - Guidepost for the Saints; Chapter Two - Clause Nine What does it mean to be a Saint? A question the young Elly often asks herself after being knighted as one in her Kingdom. A Saint is one who represents an emanation of Kabbalah, The Tree of Life. Typically; the true goal of a Saint is to climb Jacobs Ladder and ascend to godhood, which can be done by any of the four sacred rites granted to those among the Saints. Yet, there is something else needed to gain such power. Suffering. One must inherently experience suffering without peer, and overcome it in order to achieve such untouchable might. Young Elly having only recently achieved the status is unaware of the true extent of this, taking on the number Ten, Malkuth after the loss of her teacher, Lady Iris. Although still young, she is seen to be more than cut out for the role by everyone but herself. The story takes place shortly after she is Knighted, now at the helm of an entire faction, she must learn how to not only control her new powers, but lead her kingdom to prosper. Elly first struggles when memories of a young girl, Erielle come to her in a dream, which soon begins to alter her own memories. Thinking it to be nothing, she ignores the increasingly frightening nightmares, unknowing that this girl holds great value to her fate. Little does she know, she is part of a much greater scheme, as the target of an unknown organization. © 2013-2021 Archadia Project.
