Y/n's POV

The Golden Trio appeared before me, and Hermione called out to Harry, her voice tinged with urgency. Harry looked visibly shaken, his breaths coming in short gasps.

"Did you hear it?"

He asked, his voice trembling with fear. I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized he was hearing the same voice I was.

"Hear what?"

Ron asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"That voice"

Harry replied, his eyes wide with alarm.

"Voice? What voice?"

Hermione inquired, her concern growing. But how could they not hear it? And why could I hear it too?

"I heard it first in Lockhart's office, and then again just—"

Harry's words trailed off, and I felt it too, the eerie presence of that sinister voice.

'It's time...'

I clenched my fists silently, trying to suppress the growing sense of dread.

"It's moving. I think it's going to kill"

Harry and I spoke simultaneously, our voices echoing our shared terror.

"Kill?"

Ron asked, his confusion evident. Harry ran ahead, and Hermione and Ron followed closely behind. I trailed after them, my heart racing with each step.

"Harry, wait! Not so fast!"

Hermione shouted as they reached a crossing. Harry paused, and I noticed the wet floor beneath him. I stayed back, observing quietly as Harry cautiously proceeded. But then, the scene unfolded before us. Spiders scuttled across the floor, and we came upon a wall with a message written in blood.

"Strange"

Harry remarked, his voice tinged with unease. Hermione stepped forward to read the chilling words aloud.

"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the Heir, beware"

she recited, her voice trembling. Panic rose within me as I noticed Filch's petrified cat nearby.

"It's Mrs. Norris"

Harry exclaimed, his eyes widening in horror. The sight of the petrified cat sent shockwaves through the students who had gathered. As students walked toward us, their expressions turned from curiosity to shock as they laid eyes on Mrs. Norris, petrified on the ground.

"It's Mrs. Norris"

Someone whispered, the words hanging heavy in the tense atmosphere. The air crackled with tension as Draco stepped forward, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

"Enemies of the Heir beware. You'll be next, Mudbloods"

He declared, his tone laced with malice. I couldn't remain hidden any longer. Stepping out from my hiding place, I walked up to Draco, my eyes fixed on the ominous message written in blood. The words taunted us, a chilling reminder of the danger lurking within the walls of Hogwarts. But I refused to let fear consume me. With a steely resolve, I met Draco's gaze, my expression resolute.

As the gravity of the situation sank in, the other students remained speechless, their eyes darting between us and the message on the wall. In that moment, I knew that we were standing on the precipice of something dark and sinister. But I also knew that we couldn't let fear dictate our actions. We had to stand together, united against whatever darkness threatened to engulf us.

Before anyone could react, Filch appeared, his rage palpable. Accusations flew, tensions rose, and Dumbledore intervened, ushering everyone except us four away. As Dumbledore addressed the situation, I couldn't shake the feeling of Draco's concerned gaze upon me. I reassured Filch that Mrs. Norris was not dead but petrified, though he remained furious.

As Snape and Lockhart offered their perspectives, I interjected, correcting Snape's assumption that the trio were my friends. Hermione and Ron explained their whereabouts, and Dumbledore asserted the principle of innocence until proven guilty.

"We will be able to cure her, Argus"

Dumbledore assured Filch.

"In the meantime, I strongly recommend caution... to all."

Harry's POV

Hermione's interruption caught me off guard, but it was the sudden appearance of Y/n Malfoy that truly sent a shiver down my spine. Her presence alone seemed to command attention, and I found myself frozen under her scrutinizing gaze.

"It's a bit strange, isn't it?"

Hermione continued, undeterred by Y/n's interruption.

"Strange?"

I echoed, feeling a knot of apprehension form in my stomach.

"You hear this voice---"

Hermione began, but Y/n interjected, her tone cool and composed.

"A voice only you can hear... and then Mrs. Norris turns up Petrified? It's just strange"

Y/n remarked casually as she walked past us, her words leaving us stunned.

"How'd you know? That I can hear that voice?"

I blurted out, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"I heard you say it earlier in the hallway while running like an idiot, with your friends following you everywhere you go. I got curious, so I followed you too"

Y/n replied, her gaze unwavering. Her words left me speechless, and I couldn't help but wonder what else she might have observed during her silent observation.

"Do you think I should have told them? Dumbledore and the others, I mean?"

I asked, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Are you mad?"

Ron interjected incredulously.

"No, Potter. Even in the wizarding world, hearing voices isn't a good sign"

Y/n explained calmly before leaving us to ponder her words. As we made our way to the Gryffindor common room, Ron and Hermione were still reeling from the encounter.

"Wait, did Ms. Malfoy just talk to you, Harry?"

Ron asked, his disbelief evident. We entered our dorm room, but my mind was still consumed by thoughts of the mysterious voice.

'That voice... why did I hear it?'

I wondered, the unsettling feeling lingering long into the night.
