"Have you lost your mind?!" Before the Duke could even come up with words, Alexander yelled across the room, looking so angry—like a ranging bull as he spared Helena to see the horror unfolding in this room. That was such an overreaction coming from him.
"Would you mind telling them to leave the room, Your Grace?" I asked, ignoring Alexander's remark as I did not want to deal with him. The Duke who was too shock to even move suddenly looked at his children, before looking back at me.
"What is this behavior, Felicia?" He asked, looking at the severed servant behind me. I shrugged, looked back and didn't even flinch at the sight of the servant. It's her fault, it's not my fault at all.
"Sister..." Helena called, her cries of woe worked the two men, berating me once more with words that I could not put. They were reprimanding me for my actions, for hurting the servant. Honestly, my mind has blocked their words as I just stared at the Duke, letting him rap for more.
"How can you be so cruel, sister?" Helena asked as she ran towards the servant, kneeling as she commanded the knight to let go of her. I wish I could roll my eyes but then again, Helena is a naige woman whom they sheltered a lot with money and praises.
As soon as the knights let go of her, Helena caught her in her arms, hugged her and cried. "Whatever the maid did to you sister, it's never wrong to put your hands against them." She cried, making the two even more furious to me.
"You have no empathy, Felicia. All i could see is a vicious woman who does nothing but evoke vicious crimes against individuals!" Alexander berated me, striding towards Helena while he was pointing his fingers on me.
I did not argued for more as I let them continue talking about morals and such. As if they have one, they're nothing but showing fake appreciation and positive emotions towards everyone except for their own blood.
Against my better judgement, Helena suddenly crossed her fingers, where light emerged from her which then transferred towards the helpless maiden. I was beyond amazed at her skill. So this is the infamous power of a saint, a healing ability.
With her power, she was able to help the servant regain strength yet on the process of losing hers. She nearly fainted but good thing Alexander was there to catch her.
"Sister..." Helena called, "How could you do this to her?" She asked me, her doe eyes with tears yet I did not flinch at all. I may feel kind towards Helena for her acceptance, but I could never let this shit happen again.
"Your Grace... I apologize, I should have molded the first lady into a better lady." Mary said weakly, manipulating everyone with crocodile tears forming in her eyes. "I failed as a servant, your Grace. I apologize." She apologized again, crying.
It earned a lot of empathy from everyone, especially Helena who hugged Mary with all her might. "I'm sorry you have to go through with this, Mary." Helena cried together with her, consoling the servant.
I almost let out a chuckle from this. It's as if I was looking into a theatre play where one knows how to act to gain sympathy from everyone. Well, Mary can pass as an actress with her ability to act perfectly.
"Felicia, don't you dare try lying now! Mary has been with you since childhood and this is how you repay her?! By stabbing her back?" Alexander berated me again. "I can't believe you are my sister!" He even added.
As if that would hurt me at all. I can't believe I also have a dumb brother.
"Felicia, I am utterly disappointed with your misconduct. You are forbidden to take a step outside of your room, your allowance will be heavily affected and you will have no more servants to help you!" Alexander roared, angry for what I did.
