𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗦. So interesting, Scarlet stared at the blank canvas the entire night, not being able to close her eyes for a moment. Time had passed quite quickly, and she did not realise how two months had already gone by between all her studies and whatsoever.

In the morning, she heard awkward shuffling and the chaotic movements of Everest getting ready for class and the blonde was quite used to the irritating noise of it all.

"Scarlet, you're going to be late," the brunette called, making Scarlet sit up in her bed with tired eyes and she rubbed them softly. It was clear nobody was going to pay any attention in their classes—after all, the Gryffindors, specifically the Marauders were throwing Sirius Black an extravagant birthday party and everybody was invited. Including the Slytherins, this time.

"What is that?" asked the girl curiously, gesturing to the velvet box in the girl's hand.

"Something came in for you," Everest gestured to the box laid out on Scarlet's bed.

"From who?"

"I don't know," Eve shrugged. "Just found it there."

Scarlet cast a glance at her best friend then moved over slowly to open the box. She was extra careful—the pranks on Slytherins have escalated ever since she came back from summer. When she removed the top part of the rectangular box, her fingers felt the touch of a soft fabric.

Then her jaw dropped. It was not the softness of the fabric that caught her astonished—hell, even stargazing would not leave her with her mouth hung open. In the box was a dress. And when she took it out and laid it out in front of her, every single detail on it was made to perfection. Starting with the smooth, ending with the long-sleeves that were made with lace. Tiny flowers on one side of the waistline. The length reached all the way down to her ankles and the neck-line dropped down a little more than she would prefer.

It was perfect, the dress. She would have loved it.

      If it wasn't maroon.

There was no way she was going to show up at a party wearing maroon. Scarlet never wore maroon, at least she did not plan to wear anything but emerald, silver, and black as long as she stayed at Hogwarts. The pattern is recognisable: she made a statement to say she is a Slytherin with every drop of her blood.
