"Why are you like this?" Danial groaned, he slumped back on the luxurious sofa, eyes annoyingly looking at Felicia.

"You can't do anything about it, unless you want me to die," Felicia said, persuasively.

"What are you even talking about?"

Felicia's head tilted slightly to the side, a look of confusion etched across her face as she pondered the sorcerer's remarks.

Shouldn't he know already?

As the silence lingered, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settling in the pit of her stomach. "It is not possible to remove the corruption. If one attempts to do so, it will result in death, right?"

As if a bolt of lightning struck him, Danial erupted into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. He clutched his stomach with one hand, trying to suppress the outburst, but the laughter continued to bubble up inside him like a playful stream.

"Oh, Fel! Since when did you become like this? I thought you were smarter!" He chuckled as his laugh died down.

"Pardon?" Felicia asked, almost immediately. As she sat there in her living room, listening to her best friend's words, she couldn't help but feel torn between two conflicting opinions. Sylvia had told her that corruption blended with one's being. Removing it was as if tearing the brains and heart apart.

But now, her friend was here, contradicting everything Sylvia had said, and she didn't know which one to believe. It was like standing at a crossroads, with no clear path ahead, and the weight of the decision bearing down on her like a heavy burden.

"Oh, come here." He gestured to sit beside him, patting the soft white cushion.

"Sit with me."

"Huh?"

"I'll tell you something."

Despite her initial hesitance, the creator decided to take the plunge. She yearned for the old times, when her friendship with him felt genuine and strong. With this in mind, she mustered up the courage.

However, the werecat beside her wasn't so satisfied with the whole scenario going on. He frowned disgustingly when Felicia left to sit beside the noisy sorcerer. A reckless one to his eyes, Mocha grew to loathe Danial.

"Who told you that?" He leaned his arms on his knees, head darting towards Felicia's face with a smug smile. The creator sat down, legs crossed.

"Sylvia." Felicia shrugged as she looked at him with a confused gaze.

"Oh you, don't listen to her." Danial gave a friendly light tap on her shoulder.

"Why?" Asked the creator, she became more confused.

"I can use my sorcery to remove your corruption, Fel. You will not die. It requires a few rituals like this and that but... Not all corrupt results are deaths." He explained.

A feline ear perked up, "Really, how are we supposed to believe you?" Mocha interrupted with a tone of distrust in his voice.

"Because I've done it before." He rolled his emerald eyes at the werecat. "During my duty I recovered a few mortals from corruption."

"You did?!" Felicia was startled by what he said, and she jumped a little in surprise.

"Sylvia... lied?" She muttered lowly.

Why? Why would Sylvia lie to her? She was half omniscient, her psychometry ability knows it all. But why?

Felicia couldn't fathom why the CEO lied, was she trying to get rid of her?
