"Wake up, Wake up, Wake up." I got up to my alarm. Today was my first day of grade twelve and at a new school. I live with my brother in Manhattan. His jobs always has him moving all over the world. But this time he is suppose to stay until and three year project is completed. So i guess i'll be here til i graduate.

I got out of bed and started to get ready. Once I was finished I walked into the kitchen of our two story apartment. I had upstairs and my brother had downstairs. I looked to see i note on the fridge.

"Be back when your home from school. Food is in the fridge."

He always left notes to assure me that he was safe. I opened the fridge to see an omlet with a danish. My lunch was on the table and my bag was packed with supplies.

"Jacob you really don't let me do anything for myself anymore." I got my things and ate my breakfast on the way to school. I rode my bike to school. I didn't need to use my metro card because I wanted to take the more scenic route.

I saw all types of cars, people and buildings. I realized it was me a young girl in a big city.

When i stopped at the red light I saw a shop with puppies in the window. I wish i could get one but Jacob would tell me about all the responsibilities that come with one. Yet he never let's me do things myself.

The light turned green and turned to the corner of where my school was. I pulled up to the school's bike parking lot. Thankfully Jacob packed a lock for my bike. After locking my bike I went to the front door of school and pulled it opened. The school was huge. I must have been five stories high.

The bell rang and everyone started to get to class at the same time. It was utter chaos. People bumped into me to and from. Someone bumped me too hard and I began to fall. Hard

Suddenly, I felt two strong arms hold me. I looked up to see a boy with golden brown hair and brown eyes. He had muscles like a god. His tan was perfect.

"Thanks." He helped me regain my balance.

"Your welcome." In just a few seconds he was gone.

I made my way to the school office to get my locker number and class schedule.

"Hi. um I'm Tabitha Summers and I came to get my things." The lady behind the desk gave me my combination to my locker and everything else I needed.

I went to my class first because I didn't have any textbooks yet so there was nothing to drop off.

My first lesson was Literature. It was in room 305.

I knocked on the door and walked in.

"Hi. I'm Tabitha Summers and I'm new here."

"Hello Tabitha. I your teachers Mrs. Smith." She seemed nice.

"You could take a seat next to Sabrina." She pointed to a girl with black hair and blue eyes. She looked really pretty. I walked over to her and sat down.

"Hi."

"Hi."

"So where you from Tabitha?"

"Well I don't have a place I could call home but I live with my brother and his jobs has him moving all over the world."

"Whoa. So where you been then?"

"I've been to Japan, Italy, Great Britain, South Africa and many other places." She looked at me with her cold blue eyes in amazment.

"How long have you been in the city that never sleeps?"

"Where?"

"New York silly."
