Chapter 1

I was awoken by my little sisters shaking and screaming. I shook her to wake her up from her dream. She had these often, I feel so bad knowing Im her big brother and I can't help her. She started having these dreams when she was four. Her and I share the same bed, it makes her feel "safe".

I love her with my heart, I would give my life for her cause she's all that I've got. Our father left when she was born, and our mother...let's just say I'm glad she's not around. But whenever she does come home...I have to always keep an eye out.

I remember when my mother went into my sisters room and tried giving Lesley some type of shot, all I heard was crying and her screaming no. But thankfully I got there in time. My mother is a drug addict. I want Lesley to be nothing like her. Sometimes I fear she will be.

The memories of my dad are really blurry, the last time him and I talked all he said was "Don't worry son, it won't be long". At this time I was twelve. I was very....alone. We never had a peaceful household.

Chapter 2

I woke Lesley up at 4:00 am. It was time for school, why so early? I had to wait for her to get ready, and we had to walk downtown, wait on a bus but it will only take us so far, so we have to catch another one until we arrive to her school. This process is repeated every Monday through Friday. But somedays she misses school because Mom doesn't bring money and Im normally on a tight budget.

I came home from taking Lesley to school. The door was wide open, I walk in. The living room lamp, shattered on the ground. I heard water running. I rushed to the bathroom.

At this sight. I collapsed next to the tub. My mother, her face so pale. Watered down blood all in the tub. Her eyes closed for good. I began sobbing.

I turned off the water, I couldn't let her sit here like this. I picked her up and dropped her. Her back was....gone? Her body fell onto the tile. There was a hole for where her back should be.

I could see inside of her body. I regret all of the times I've tried keeping her out of my life...but then I don't. Part of her cared and the other part did. The part that did care barely showed.

There was a necklace that my father had given her when they first married. I lightly lifted up her head and took it from around her neck. I grabbed her cold lifeless hand and just held it. Knowing this would be my last time with her.

This was killing me. Knowing that she's gone. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a trash bag and collected a few things. Lesley's clothes, a blanket, my clothes, and hygiene products. Then I went into my mothers room, its been a while since I've been in here.

I went through her dresser and took out all of the credit cards, and all the money in her wallet. I know Lesley will be pained by never seeing her again. With a large trash bag I made my way downtown to catch a bus and then some.

After awhile I finally made my way to Lesley's school. I signed papers to take her out o school early, she looked at me confused and asked whats going on? I took a deep breath and said, "I'll tell you when we leave". She looked at me oddly and said, okay.

Chapter 3

We stand on the side of a corner and wait for a taxi to come by, when the cab stops we get into the back seat. The driver sees him holding into a large garbage bag, the driver says whats in the bag?
