LAURA PEREZ AND JAKE PERALTA WERE KNOWN AS THE JOKESTERS AT THE NINE-NINE. They were so similar yet so different from each other but they got along just fine. At some point they developed feelings for each other and tried out dating but between work and everything else they barely had time for each other.
They broke up, which was something that surprised their friends at work. Laura resumed her life pretty quickly, acting like nothing had happened in the first place unlike Jake who needed time to get over her. Things started to change around the precinct, at least it did for the two of them. They didn't talk to each other, no longer pranked others together and wouldn't even be in the same room alone.
As Jake saw how Laura moved on, he realised something. He didn't want to move on as well, he just wanted her back.
