Prologue

Harry was working his usual shift at the bakery down the street. It was quite empty at this time of day, just one cute old couple were sitting in a booth at the corner of the room eating and chatting amongst themselves. Harry was wiping the counter tops with a clean rag when the door's bell rang signalling a new customer had entered. Harry threw the rag to the side and took his position at the front as the shorter male has approached.

"Hi, can I help you?" He asked faking all his cheeriness.

"Just a regular coffee, please." The boy smiled.

Harry nodded, grabbed a Styrofoam cup and filled it with the caffeinated coffee. He picked up a lid and placed it on the cup making sure it was on there tight and went back to the boy at the counter. He rung the boy up and collected the money to put in the register, giving him the change he needed back, the boy placed the change in the tip jar.

"Thanks, uh, Harry." He softly bit his lip.

"You're welcome... Jake?" Harry had completely guessed.

"No, that was completely off." The boy chuckled, " It's Louis."

"Well, in that case, you're welcome, Louis." Harry felt a small blush creep up on his cheeks.

Louis smirked slightly before he left the bakery still leaving Harry with his blush.

Louis walked out of the bakery still thinking about the encounter with Harry. 'Why did I even do that?'  He thought, 'It probably came across as I was flirting with him.' Louis shrugged it off and sipped his hot coffee, he'd always liked black plain coffee, nothing fancy added. He was thinking so much about Harry that he didn't even realized he had bumped into someone.

"Oh, sorry, love. Let me help you up." Louis reached for the girls hand, their hands connected and he was pulling her up.

"No, no. That's quite alright." She smiled gleefully. "Name's Eleanor."

"Louis." He responded.

"Well, Louis, care for a new coffee? It's on me." She laughed quietly at the coffee that was now spreading all over the sidewalk.

"Oh, you don't have to-"

"I want to, come on. It'll be fun." She smiled and took his hand.

"I know the perfect place, right by my apartment." He mentally smiled to himself, because now he can see Harry again.

"Alright. To the coffee place!" She yelled and pointed a finger outward. He laughed at the attempt for a joke and led her to the bakery.

They entered the bakery and approached the counter, even though Louis only went here once before, it all seemed like a normal thing  to do. The boy behind the counter had turned around, it wasn't the boy Louis had been hoping for though, it was his friend Liam.

"Hey Liam." Louis gave him a friendly wave.

"New girl, Tomlinson?" Liam winked and nodded his head over to Eleanor.

"If by 'girl' you mean friend, yes. I have a new girl." Louis chuckled.

"Whatever, what can I get ya?" Louis ordered for himself and Eleanor, of course Louis paid, he couldn't let Eleanor pay for it, even if it was something so little.

"Well, thank you for my coffee, Lou."

"No worries, love." He gave her a comforting smile. Just then the curly haired boy walked back into the front and Louis' eyes seemed to have lit up, or so Eleanor had told him.

"Lou?" Eleanor had snapped her fingers in front of him trying to get him out of his little daydream.

"Oh- Um, sorry." He cheeks flushed in red.

"So? Got a little crush on Harry over there?" She smirked trying to embarrass him a little more.

"No, maybe, I don't know. It's just- I'm happy when I see him in a best friend kind of way... How do you know his name?" He raised his eyebrow.

"He's a friend of mine. Not extremely close, but I certainly know his name." She giggled lightly at her comment. "You ever talk to him?"

"Barely, it was a 'thank you' and then he tried to guess my name... Failed, but tried."

"That's Harry for you. Always trying to bring the happiness out there. He's a good kid, Lou. Go for him." She winked and took a sip of her coffee.

*-*-*-*

Could it be true? No. It would make sense... It can't be, it's not possible.

Thoughts of Eleanor saying "So? Got a little crush on Harry over there?" and "He's a good kid, Lou. Go for him." And all the other 'hints' Eleanor was obviosly pointing out were flooding through Louis' mind. He's straight, he couldn't possibly like boys. No, that's absurd. Well, it is quite possible but not for him, right?

Louis could not stop replaying it over and over in his head, so much to the point he'd barely gotten any sleep that night. Louis kept thinking about his past relationship, it was boring, always the same things happening with that girl, nothing new. You'd think he'd just glance at other girls like most other boys would, but, he tended to glance over at the guys.

Maybe... Maybe he did have a crush on Harry. But, that's not possible, he hardly knows him, why would he like someone like that if they barely even met? Of course the thought in his mind went,' why wouldn't you?'
