Lonely but Alive

Do you ever have those mornings,

When you know you have to wake up,

But you close your eyes

 And push the pain aside.

You dream of her arms around you

And wonder if they’ll notice

If you don’t come down till

Your dreams come true

But time goes by

You know you have to face the day

Lonely but alive, Braking down inside.

You pull yourself up

And Brush away old memories,

Forget that stuff, but it’s never enough,

Because you know

That you’ll see her later that afternoon

And that ghost you made her into

Will crawl into your dream filled head

But always leave to soon

Do you ever wish for power,

To raise you arms and grab onto

The stares that hang above

And pull down the one you love

Her image, you are holding

Behind your eyes,

Your story is unfolding

And you start to think maybe it is true

But time goes by

You know you have to face the day

Lonely but alive, Braking down inside.

You pull yourself up

And Brush away old memories,

Forget that stuff, but it’s never enough,

Because you know

That you’ll see her later that afternoon

And that ghost you made her into

Will crawl into your dream filled head

But always leave to soon
