Its the last week of summer break. The sun beaming down on my pale, damp skin as I float in the pool. I can feel the water move every time my brother swims under me. I take a deep breath of the summer air- the fresh cut grass, the pool water, the barbecue. Breathing in every last moment of freedom before school starts again.
*BLING*
I hear my phone go off on the patio across the yard.
"Hey, can someone check that? Make sure it isn't anything important?!"
My cousins reaches across the table and replies "it's a friend request.. from a boy!"
My cheeks go flush as I hear my older brother asking who it is. Wondering the same thing myself, I quickly flip off of my floaty and shimmy my way out of the pool. I run across the yard to grab my phone and I press the home button and read the screen as it lights up:
