Family. A word that Holden didn't know. He didn't have one of those. He never has. He didn't need one. Home. Another word he didn't have. He's never had one of those either. He lived in a house, but that was no home. Love. A word Holden's never heard. He doesn't know what love is. He's never been told he was loved. He was never able to be held or comforted by someone who told him they loved him. Pain. A word he's all too familiar with. Something he is used to. Something he is routine to. That's all he knows. He doesn't know love or happiness. He knows pain. That is until one day is he sent to a foster home where he doesn't receive that. He doesn't receive pain for anything. All he receives is love. Holden doesn't know what to do with the new life and the sudden love. He doesn't know how to react to it all. He doesn't know what to do when he's found a home at last.
