Just a creepy short story I wrote for fun, hope it's not too trashy! (Warning: Blood and gore) ---------------------------- The only light in the universe now comes from the cold glow of stars long dead. Great, big, beautiful stars. Supergiant balls of gas and flame. To us, they had felt almost immortal, as though they could never die. Not for tens of billions of years, at least. They were eternal beacons in an endless universe. I think we took them for granted. If objects as powerful as stars got snuffed out as suddenly as a wax candle, what chance does a puny lifeform like myself have against this dark universe? We don't know how or why they all vanished. What we do know is that now, there is nothing to keep all the planets from floating away into freezing space. ---------------------------- Image is one of NASA's photos of the Butterfly Nebula
