This poem tells the tale of a young witch named Maria, born of the seas, and brought into a world that raised her with ideals different from it's own. Her Mother that barely had any care for her reminded her: "Keep those evil roots of yours under wraps unless you want to get persecuted. For the humans fear what they cannot control. You think you'll ever find love in this world? Think again. If you want something, you have to take it yourself!" At the time, Maria didn't pay much attention to her words. As her mother would always spout the occasional nonsense, but this lesson lingered deep in her bones, waiting to be awoken. Soon after, her father found out about her mother's identity and had the village cruelly burn her to death. Maria who felt rather little sadness for her death, took her chance to escape onto a ship and across the seas before she was caught next. Just where will her journey take her?
