The Great War, the War to End All Wars, or World War 1 as it came to be known. At first the world believed it would only last a few months. We were all wrong. A British infantryman, and a German shock trooper. Opposite sides of the Great War, but the same fight. Taking place on the Western Front of the Great War, Andrew Sutton and Herman Abel are two teenage boys, fighting on opposite sides of the war. They originally believed the war would be fun. One realizes the horror, and descends into madness, the other, already mad, begins to realize the horror of his actions. Rise's intent is to show the horrors of the Great War that aren't taught in a classroom and aren't usually shown in media. It focuses on the nitty gritty of the trenches of the western front and the horrors and terrors the soldiers who fought suffered through. From harsh winters to muddy rain filled fields. Disclaimer: Rise aims to be as historically accurate as possible, so there is granted to be at least some discrepancies between what is actually true and what is presented in the story.
