Andromeda June Harrow does not like magic. That is incredibly unfortunate considering that a Fae blood transfusion saved her life at 13 years old, granting her incredible strength and the ability to call lightning, neither of which she can control even ten years later. Instead, she spends her days trying her best to hide her magic and to stay far, far away from the Fae that have integrated themselves into human society for the past several decades. The Corruption, a disease that twists the minds and magic of those it infects, is on the rise among Fae as well, and AJ sees that as all the more reason to stay away. However, AJ's best friend is taken by the High Court for reasons the Fae leaders refuse to divulge, and AJ is forced to bargain for them both. On the brink of potential war with another world and an extinction level magical plague that only seems to be getting worse, AJ hurries to uncover the High Court's secrets in time to save her friends, her world, and-- if she can swing it-- herself.
