"WITHOUT POWER" After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider, young Peter Parker finds that he now has incredibly enhanced strength, speed and agility. Along with the ability to adhere to any surface, a precognitive spider-sense that warns him of danger and a pair of mechanized web shooters, the idealistic teenager fights against evil as the costumed hero Spider-Man. Set during the decade of the 1990's, this is a Generation X version of the Amazing Spider-Man story. This is a time when young people believed that they had the power to change the world for the better. In order to make a difference, Peter will need to rely on his friends for help and have the courage to believe in good. LAST ISSUE A new school year has begun for Peter Parker and the students of Midtown High School. With that new year comes new challenges and opportunities. Mary Jane Watson continues to struggle with the loss of her best friend, Gwen Stacy. She seeks comfort in her friends and attends the school prep rally for the big football game. The game doesn't disappoint as Flash Thompson leads the Midtown High School Tigers to a 37-31 victory over the Edgemont High School Panthers. However, Peter doesn't get to enjoy all of the after school activities. His responsibilities as Spider-Man take him away from most of the fun. Oscorp Industries seems to be responsible for the creation of a terrible new threat - The Sandman! Norman Osborn uses this new foe as a pawn in his evil game to destroy the masked hero. Despite the best efforts of his enemies, Spider-Man still endures. For now, the city of New York still has its protector and a sense of hope.
