Poppy Watkins doesn't care about anything. Anything, that is, except for her never available, emotionally vacant best friend, Roman. Whilst she waits for her reluctant suitor to finally love her back, Poppy works an array of underpaid, underachieving jobs. Her most recent is in a Christmas Decoration factory. Only problem is, it's February. And her new co-worker Billy won't keep his stupid jokes and endless freckles to himself.
Poppy's friends seem convinced that now is finally the time for her childhood romance to bloom into something more solid. Roman's mother; Clarice, a famous spiritualist, insists on forever foreseeing the match between Poppy and her son. Len, once Poppy's family chauffeur and now a bus driver/ father figure, is similarly adamant about their match. And Roman is facing problems that mean he needs his best friend more than ever.
But what about Billy? For the first time in her life Poppy might have a chance at falling in love with somebody who actually loves her back. So what if he isn't the brooding, poetic, dark haired man that she's always dreamed about. Can Poppy find the strength to let old love and her past go so that she can be happy in the present. Or will she continue endlessly waiting for Roman(ce)? All Rights Reserved
