I never asked for this. Maybe if I hadn't left that morning. Maybe if the bus wasn't late. Maybe if Mr. Turner hadn't asked me to show up early to help inventory. So many things seemed to fit into place, to land me here. It seems like someone, somewhere, wanted me to be this way, wanted me to end up where I am. I watched it happen, my eyes fixated, unblinking and shining with tears. I couldn't stop it, I couldn't move, couldn't make a sound. Blood oozed from my neck, a gurgling sound escaped my lips, then the ground below me seemed to sway, soon my vision went to nothing but black.
