-SkulThe rain came down thick from a sudden rumble of clouds and a slight breeze, to which lifted the leaves of their dampened beds and tore them into the greyed sky. The pier was nothing as it had been and far from which I had remembered. It's wooden beams were humiliated and unkept, breaking in places and splintering at the sides and the sea itself a darker and unknown place to the sparkling waves it had been years before. Yet, the memory did tamper and things appeared far optimistic than they were.
Time had been wasted here. Throwing rocks into the sea or to simply spectate.
The years at which I had waited for her in the early hours of the morning, her timid and yet excited child-like stance running to collect my hat from my head and attack me in a hug, her darkened hair whisping keenly in the wind as her little grin lit her face. And the years in which her calm voice moved across the wind to catch me off my guard, hat already mockingly in hand as she sat on the bonnet of the Bentley. And the years in which I had waited- no reply to recall. The years in which I had stood for hours unto end simply spectating the rush of waves and letting thoughts flow in and out of her whereabouts and whether we would ever find her. Find my Valkyrie.
And of course we had, but I had long since lost her. And now, I would have her back. But things were never to be the same.
A crackling of tyres upon stone caught in my net of thoughts, edging me to turn.
They had arrived by car: presumably to take a reminiscence and to which had obviously been Fletcher's idea. I did not turn as a door opened and the matured Fletcher Renn walked towards me, followed by the shallow footsteps of my partner. She was nervous, tentative. Little did she know of the speed of my pulse. If only I had one to show.
"Pleasant." Said the voice, his hand moving towards my shoulder before hindering and letting it fall. "We came."
There was a long pause to which I did no appreciate to add to, letting the shuffle of feet take to the silence. I could feel Fletcher's presence take absence and took a full five minutes before turning my head a fraction towards the dark haired girl, her used jacket hanging from her toned arms as she ran a hand up my back and pulled myself into a tight hug.
She whimpered and sobbed softly into the linen of my shirt as I pulled her close and rested my head over hers. I ran a gloved hand into her dark hair and hushed her lightly, soothing the heavy gasps and sobs that were muffled from the cloth of my blouse.
"Hello, Valkyrie Cain." I whispered ever so softly into her hair, my head dipping a little to wipe her tears as she pulled away a little to catch her heavy breath.
"S-Skul." She managed, her arms linking tightly over my shoulder frame as I pulled her into a tighter hug. She shook her head, letting her hair ripple like dark water as she stifled her sobs and kissed the edge of my jaw with light intentions.
"I-I I'm so s-sorr-"
"It's alright..." I hushed, rocking her a little in my arms like I did when she was a child and soothing her easily, "I understand, Valkyrie, I always understand..."
She gave a nod and looked up at me, her eyes reddened and wet. She gave no hesitation to rub them a little before presuming to gaze at me, her brown eyes slowly edging on green as the emotion caught in her throat. She stifled another sob and let her gaze fall, her hand trailing to my navy suit and dusting it a little before reassuring herself and looking up once more.
"I've missed you." She stated, her voice hoarse and shaking. I gave her a nod, her eyes understanding of the common gesture and letting a smile smile light her features. She let her head tilt a little and caught her index finger under my chin, tilting my head a little to kiss the edge of my cheek softly yet passionately.
She pulled away and rested her head on the shoulder of my blazer, closing her eyes and letting her arm travel to my opposing shoulder.
"I've missed you too, Valkyrie Cain."***
-OblivionThe heart pumped hard in my chest as gunfire peppered behind us, Anton's thick and forced breath was heavy behind me as him and Sci ran in a painful struggle over gates and fences towards the hum of the main road ahead. I heard an anguished cry from behind as bullets hit the metal gauze of the chained fencing around the estate, ricocheting off with an audible ping before scorning the ground in long thick runways of black gunfire. The aim was, however, poor at a distance; It was recognisable that Trissiana Devonair was both short sighted and a short distance shot. I turned my head a fraction to catch sight of the two as they ran, hand in hand as we reached the fence. I took a strong stance, pushing down on the air as the two ran at the fence. They glided over and rolled towards the grass below, Anton catching the falling girl as they hit the ground in a mess of tangled limbs and protected bodies. There was a cry from metres away as a sharp bullet sliced the mere skin of my leg, causing a yell to escape my mouth as blood trickled thickly down my leg and I pushed at the air, flipping over the fence before a wave of bullets licked at my heels.
The ground hit like a swinging pendulum- there was a time in the air before it all came down. I felt the wind loosen from my gullet as I rolled, my limbs catching stray hedgerow as my arm was crushed beneath. I gasped out of surprise and pain once my head refrained from spinning and lifted my numbed arm from beneath my torso, thick gashes leaving thin trails of blood dripping over my skin. I supported my body weight shakily and inspected my leg for a split second: mud and rain mixing in a compound with the thick carmine that ripped at my leg as it trickled away with the rain that fell.
"Bliv!" Anton beckoned, his arms still held protectively around the body of his girl as he rocked her softly, a thin trail of blood running down his temple as the rain thickened and hit hard against the mud beneath us. I stood gingerly and ambled over to the two of them, catching the sight of Sci's twisted leg and letting a lurching feeling fill my chest. Her face was wanly pallid, an ashen shade of white with a thick line of blood trickling over her right eye and down her cheek. He rocked her softly and murmuring things in her ear as she groaned, her dark hair sticking to her face in the rain.
"It's broken." I clarified, my thoughts thinking aloud. "They'll be a car we can hike." I crouched low and ran a hand over her forehead as her eyes flickered steadily open. She shook and cried out in muffled pain, her head falling back into his arms as she winced in pain and gave up to exhaustion. Sci was strong, but no woman could fight six hours of torture.
Shudder moved to scoop her in his arms, his muscles tensing a little as he pulled her into his arms and rested her head on his shoulder. The rain hit the ground like numerous bullets and almost deafened the sound of the speeding main road ahead of us as we approached a steady tarmac. There were fewer cars than of usual and I moved from the two into the sidelane, my arm holding out to the cars speeding past until, eventually, after ten or so minutes a jeep slowed and pulled down it's window.
"Could we grab a lift? I'm sorry but my friend's injured and-" I let my eye wander to the man at the wheel, my mouth falling open softly.
"Jack." His eyes watched me for a minute before taking his hands off the wheel and shaking his head, his eyes blinking a few times.
"Y-You're with Dexter."
I closed my eyes and took a long breath before returning to him, biting on my lip a fraction.
"No, no I'm not. Look..." I let my eyes wander to the couple behind me as the rain continued to pound against our bodies. "I need to explain to you... A few things. Can we get in?"
He gave a vague nod and opened the door for me as I let Anton and Sci into the backseat before sliding in next to him and buckling up, my hand trailing down to my red and throbbing leg.
I took a breath and a few moments to myself before turning to him, his gaze hard and focused on the road ahead. He did not query the happens or any of the sort. I was quite under the impression he was just going with it.
"Havoc..." I murmured, my eyes trailing out the double glazed window as the road zipped by, shuttling cars whizzing past the windows as we moved unto the motorway.
His eyes glanced to mine for a split second before focusing back on the road.
"Hm?"
I bit my lip before continuing, "What would you say.... What would you say if for the last eight months I've been in places like Turkey, Greece, Italy and Budapest? But... But not Ireland." My words were stuck and there was no point denying I had no clear way of breaking it to him.
He furrowed his brow and chuckled a little, his head shaking a fraction.
"What? Sorry where is this conversation going?"
I lifted my head a little and breathed a long sigh, running a hand through my wet and grimed hair.
"I haven't been around for sometime."
He grew a little irritated, his fingers tapping upon the leather bound steering wheel as his gaze flicked back and forth.
"Where is this going, Armageddon?"
I exhaled deeply and looked at him.
"The Bliv you know and have been seeing for the last eight months is not the same Bliv that is sitting in your car."
His gaze widened and his eyes were taken off the road almost completely.
"There are more than one of me, Havoc. In fact, there are two. The one that is currently posing as me is planning to kill you. To bring hence a revolution."
His eyes widened and his jaw ground against itself, he looked shocked and worried, his mouth falling open in confusion and worry.
"I-I... I don't understand."
"You have been lied to all this time."
His hands edged from the wheel as the car veered a sharp right. The world spun in slow motion and a scream was heard from the rear of the car as the sense of up and down was tossed, direction breaking through the window as the jeep collided with another few cars, the window smashed.
And the world went black.********
Sorry for the late update all!!! I wanted to add that nice little car crash ^-^
