They sat in a lounge room, book shelves lined the walls and a fireplace was lit to warm the room. In the center of the room were two couches facing each other with a table in the center.
"Tell me about it," Sophie sighed. "Can't wait to explain that I'm a princess and I'm this weapon and oh yeah, I got my parents killed,"
"Don't forget our engagement," he teased her and grabbed her hand.
"I wanna punch you,"
"Yeah, now I'm scared," He let go of her hand and stepped away.
She chuckled and smiled, turning her attention to Amy.
When she sat down, she noticed how Amy didn't want to make eye contact with her.
"Short or long story?" Sophie asked her.
"Well, that depends on how long the long story is," Amy shrugged.
"Well, 14 years is a long time,"
"I want to know everything,"
Sophie nodded and began to retell the story. Started from how she got her family killed to just before the news of her engagement was released.
"And then I met someone... someone who can be either way too flirty or way too silly," Sophie smiled and glanced at Fitz.
"Oh you love it, you just don't admit it," He walked over and bopped her nose. He plopped down next to her and grabbed her hand.
"Wait," Amy said, rubbing her forehead as if it would make everything make sense. "Go on. This is getting juicy,"
"Well, I got engaged to Prince Fitz Vacker, heir to the throne and soon to be husband. Everything was fine, I started training after a small attack that I took care of and then I was...I was kidnapped. I escaped thankfully, but that's when I found out my memories of you had been erased. I've been trying to look for you ever since but it's been hard,"
"I... I understand. I thought that you hated me and decided to leave, this is a much better outcome."
"Hate you? Amy, I love you with all my heart. I'm sorry, I'm so so-,"
"It's okay," Amy leaned forward and placed her hand on Sophie's. "I had so much pent up anger and frustration that I never stopped to think that you also had you're issues. And you're..a princess with a castle and a hot fiancé-!"
"Hey!" Sophie blushed.
"I'm not wrong, admit it! But you're so.. so much greater than I ever thought a person could be,"
Sophie smiled and rubbed her side like it was in pain. But she pushed through and grabbed her sister's hand. "I'm here now, and we'll make sure your life is comfortable." Sophie turned to Fitz. "Could she maybe...?"
"Stay in the castle?" He finished for her. He rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't know, it's complicated. We can't put her in harms way, but we need to keep her safe. But she's also human. And could be used as leverage against us, especially you,"
Sophie sighed. "I know, it's silly I just... you're right, I love you Amy but you can't stay here, of course the kingdom is open to you and you can visit whenever, but you cannot live in the castle. I hope you understand,"
"Of course I understand, but I'm going to visit you a lot," Amy smirked.
"That sounds like a plan," she smiled. "But you can stay with me until we get you situated, how does that sound?"
Amy nodded. "Thank you, Sophie. Or should I say, 'Princess Ruewen,'"
Sophie sighed. "If you insist on formalities, call me princess Foster,"
"Yeah, no. I hate saying princess. Foster it is,"
They smiled and sat there for a moment.
"Well," Fitz stood up, "I have to get back to my duties, as you should too, love. We have much to do, and a wedding to plan,"
She stood to wish him goodbye, but he grabbed her chin and gently kissed her on the lips.
After that, he leaned in and whispered in her ear, "I love you," before walking out the door without another word.
She was left here like a stone statue, petrified by what just happened. Her cheeks were bright red.
When Fitz left the room, he smiled to himself. He was so glad to have her back that he had lost self control, but he didn't care.
He walked down the hall until he saw two people staring at someone from behind a corner.
Fitz tried not to laugh and to be quiet as he walked up to them.
"Enjoying spying on my sister?" He asked when he was right next to them.
They both jumped, and the people turned out to be Jensi and Keefe.
"Fitzy, you scared me!" Keefe clasped his hand over his heart to slow it's beating. "Where in the world did you come from?"
Just then, Sophie walked out of the hall with a bright red face that only got brighter when she saw and walked past Fitz.
"Oh," Keefe smirked. "I think I know now,"
"Shut up!" Fitz's cheeks slightly glowed pink. "She's my fiancé, I should have the ability to...nevermind!"
Jensi laughed. "Your majesty, I think it's wonderful. You prove to us all that maybe it's not all just for show and that you're relationship will last, on a firm foundation."
Fitz glanced to the side and smiled to himself. "Yeah, something like that,"
