"My new book already started and your name's the first word." He showed me that wide smile of his, caressed my cheek before his lips attached to my forehead in a loving manner.

I admired - loved - the way he didn't care to show me how much he loved me no matter where we were, even in public like this.

Well, there weren't people around but who knew if anyone could see us from inside the building.

He walked up the steps and pushed the glass door open for me to step in before he did so himself, intertwining our hands once again.

There was a registration counter at the very front and we headed towards it where a lovely orange headed girl stood.

I didn’t even know that some offices were opened during such a holiday mood.

She didn't seem too busy, not even phone calls to answer or make. So, Calum right up spoke.

"Excuse me," he said and the girl looked up, eyeing him and I as if she were to eat us. Well, not so lovely after all. "We are here to see Mr. Joseph?"

She let out an annoyed sigh before looking down to gather some papers that scattered her desk. "Down that hall, elevator, 3rd floor, first door you see, get in."

Calum rolled his eyes and we followed the directions - no, we did not make out in the elevator - and I knocked on the door.

Once we were welcomed inside and seated, Mr. Joseph started explaining.

"I'm glad to say that the damage to your old house has been fully fixed and renovated, Miss Alexandra. However, some appliances - especially the kitchen needs - aren't all prepared. So, you might need to do some things yourself. Other furnitures are placed back to normal and damaged ones were replaced. You can move back in by next week. Mrs. Hood had filled in the paperwork with the previous police officer."

Calum and I looked at each other and the feeling of creating a new home excited me. Well, fascinated me, actually.

He had told us a few more regulations and even wished us both a very happy new year before we left and exit the building.

"Alex..." Calum called as we headed home.

"Hmm?"

"Something tells me we need money."

I just smiled, "I smell makeovers."

Luke was lounging around while having a drink with David and Joy while Mali was hanging out with her girl friends in a corner.

We were at a New Year's party hosted by someone in town that Calum's parents knew. I didn't see anyone that I knew and no one seemed to know me much either.

It was about 13 minutes till midnight now and we were all full with the great food and awesome celebration. I didn't see Michael anywhere but I did spot Ashton and his mum in the crowd.

Outside the huge home was an empty road, closed specially for this celebration. There were decorations hung on street lights and nothing could be more beautiful.

"So, do you like the party?" Calum asked, throwing his arm around my shoulders as he pulled me close to his body.

"This is like the first ever real party I have ever been to, and so far it's good." I smiled, just staring at the lit up street ahead of me while the noise from inside the house boomed.

I could feel his chest vibrating as he chuckled before he planted a soft kiss to the side of my head, just above my ear. "Aw, baby."

We had met a few people saying hi and hey to us here and there, so now we just wanted to stay in a pretty silent trance. Just us, the dark night sky and a lit up street.

"37 SECONDS!" someone shouted and everyone began to rush outside where Calum and I were left behind, not removing from our previous spots.

We could see Joy wrapped up in David's arms and no one else that we knew in a crowd ahead of us. Someone was dropping a ball - a new year tradition.

Not long after that, they started counting down.

"Ten!"

Goodbye Liz.

"Nine!"

Goodbye nightmares.

"Eight!"

Goodbye haters.

"Seven!"

Goodbye bad memories.

"Six!"

Goodbye loneliness.

"Five!"

Hello senior year.

"Four!"

Hello new life.

"Three!"

Hello new love.

"Two!"

Hello new year.

"One!"

Hello new me.

"Happy New Year!" The crowd shouted.

Calum grinned, "Happy new year, baby."

I smiled as I looked up at his beautiful face, lighted up by the fireworks in the sky.

"Happy new year, sunshine."

And we shared our first kiss of the - hopefully happy - year.

IT'S ENDING. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT.

I started writing this crappy story in October last year and now it's ending. Just a few more chapters left followed by an epilogue.

I love all the ones who read this forever.
