Kidnapped(II)

"Are you alright? You don't sound like your usual self."

"Ah! That's probably because Harley's behavior drastically changed. He seems to be terrified of something. He said that he knows who wants to kill him. He was about to say something before his father interrupted."

"I see...well, you can figure that out, can't you?"

"Is there anything else or should I hang up?" Drew waited for my answer.

"Uh...actually I found Cilan sitting on the ground next to his broken phone. He was breathing heavily and sweating. His face was also completely red. Apart from that, he slapped my hand away and even yelled at me. I have never seen him like that before."

"So that's why!"

"Huh?"

"Ah nothing! Well, that happens to him when he is extremely frustrated."

"So it's common?"

"No, it isn't. I've only seen him like that once. I bet he'll even get a fever now." Drew casually spoke.

"Anyway, let Gary be there and you come back. I want you to write an account of what happened." Drew continued.

"Huh? Why?! I've never written one before!"

"What sort of logic is that!?"

"I need you here right now and you are not going to make any excuses. If you aren't going to show up, bid your salary farewell", I could feel Drew smriking on the end of the phone.

In a dark room

(3rd person POV)

"Why have you brought me here? Let me go!"

"Look who we have here! It's Harley's so called girlfriend", said a voice.

"Who are you? What do you want?"

"A negotiation"

"Why would I negotiate with you?"

"You threatened Harley. Even though he is safe, don't think you wouldn't get punished."

"I have no regrets! Besides, they don't have proof against me."

"Really? Why don't you have a look at this?"

A screen in front of her suddenly lit up. It showed a recording of her placing those notes.

"How is this evidence? I could be placing anything. How are you sure of its contents?"

"Not evidence, you say? Take a look at this then."

Another recording was played which showed two people enter the washroom before her. The screen changed as another recording showed someone following her.

"Could be a random person."

"In a party like that, there can no random people. You really didn't notice the detective following you? Even his phone rang. Were you too astonished by the situation that you failed to notice such an obvious presence?" the voice chuckled.

"How do you know that it was a detective?"

"Who else could it be?"

"So you are planning to turn me in, aren't you?"

"Whether I turn you in or not won't change the fact about you getting arrested. Besides, Harley's father is influential. He had already threatened the police. All I want is a negotiation."

"I had already said I had no regrets. Why would I negotiate?"

"Don't you have anything to lose?"

"No"

"Are you sure?"

"I said 'No'!"

"Isn't it interesting to see people sacrifice themselves over their dear ones?"

"Don't drag them into this!"

"Them? And I thought you only had one person who you cared about. Turns out there are more. You were good at hiding them, 'were'. Now since you've let the cat out of the bag, I'll eventually find them."

"Don't you dare harm them!"

"What do you take me for? I am not that heartless to kill an innocent person!"

"So you can kill someone who is not innocent?

"Who knows?"

"Then why don't you start with Harley?"

"What about starting with you instead?"

"I've never killed but Harley has"

"Are you trying to hire me?"

"Probably"

"What do you take me for? You can't hire me, especially when I am the one who wants to hire you"

"Weren't you supposed to negotiate?"

"Hiring, negotiating, same difference"

"No"

"I'll chose hiring then. I'll hire you and your payment would be your family's safety. What do you say?"

"Since I'll be arrested anyway, might as well ensure my family's safety", she replied after thinking for a long time.

"Now that's a very good choice."

"When can I leave?"

"After a couple of days"

"A couple of days? Why?"

"Confusion and suspense, of course! After all, someone clearly saw you getting abducted. And you also need to know why I hired you. It's not a big task don't worry"
