Hello, and welcome to Ante, my submission for the Open Novella Contest 2021! I'm really excited to be entering ONC for a second time, and to try out new things in this submission.

While I've chosen to use this prompt as a base, I would like to mention that I've twisted it a little bit to also work if said as such: "You either die a villain or live long enough to see yourself become the hero."
After all, the only difference between heroes and villains is perspective.
