F. O. R. T. Y. F. O. U. R.

I walk up to the Cooper house and knock but no one answers, I sigh and knock harder.

Me:Ms. Cooper I know you're here!

Alice:Go away Mercy! Betty isn't here!

Me:Why isn't she here? Where did she go?

Alice:Don't worry about it!

Me:Ms. Cooper!

Alice:I'll call your parents!

I huff and turn away and head back to my bike. Usually when a kid disappears they always end up in The sister of quiet mercy hand's. I guess I gotta check there, but before I can my dad calls me.

Phone call:

Dad:Mercy get home now.

Me:I'll be home in a-

Dad:Now!

I huff and turn my bike heading back towards my house. When I pull up I see  a car I know is Corey's and the truck I  know is FPs. I get off and walk inside, everyone sitting around on the couches.

Me:What's the emergency?

FP hands me two news papers and I red both.

"Woman remains found buried in forest"

"Man Found in pond decapitated and handles, is it missing Sheriff Minetta?"

I look up at them and I sit down.

Me:Why are you showing me these?

Dad:Is that the girl you and Jenson buried?

Me:I don't know what girl you're talking about.

Dad:Mercy-

Me:We didn't bury a woman!

Corey:Mercy, let us know if that could be her, so we can do something to curb the possibility of you getting caught up.

Me:I already did. I went back and recovered my tracks just incase Jenson tries to pin it on me.

Dad:And how is that?

Me:Uncle Hiram.

Dad:And you actually trust Hiram to have taken care of the video footage?

Me:No that's why I did. Not to mention that the only camera I had to worry about was the gas station one but I didn't go inside Jenson did. Perks of a crappy town, no cameras.

FP:And you trust Hiram to ride with this?

Me:Yes. Because me and him understand each other very well.

My dad leans up and frowns.

Dad:What does that mean, Mercy?

Me:It means that Hiram has no reason to not cover for me, I'm his so very obedient niece, you know he loves when people listen to him. He also didn't like Jenson so he'd do anything to throw him in the dirt no charge or blackmail needed.

Corey:And Minetta?

Me:Hiram did that. Obviously. What does that have to do with me?

Dad:You aren't worried about this?

Me:No, simply because when me and Minetta were seen together it was always banter like any teen with a cop who picks on them plus when we did go to his office, I can say that he was questioning me about me always being in some mess and Archie running. Simple, it's no hard proof of me working with Minetta in any way not like I was, we just had a deal. People here see me the same way they see Betty and Jughead,always in mess. Why are y'all so tense?
