"I know you would if you could, but I could never let you go into battle without me. Maybe that's why." I looked up to him and gave a small smile. "Before when it was black and grey, I had no reason to fight. I had nobody that I was willing to stand beside. Until now. I couldn't handle knowing that you're out there without me. I don't trust anyone else to have your back the way I do."
We sat in silence for a little while before I was practically air dried and stood up. There was supposed to be a feast for our victory and we were expected to be there and if we would've stayed like that much longer the only place we were going was to the shower to wash off and get dirty all over again. I dressed in my robes that seemed to automatically turn white and I groaned a little, wishing my robes would have stayed the color they were. Just as I had wished it, they did just that and I stared in the mirror in disbelief. I was going to have to ask Harley and Ivy about these rings, especially after Thor came into battle with his armor all in green.
Walking into the great hall, everyone from Asgard that we battled with as well as their families were sitting around and talking. My father, the other Avengers, Harley and Ivy were all sitting at a table closest to the table set for the royal family.
"I would like to make a toast." Odin said once we had taken out seats. "To all that battled, the halls of Valhalla celebrate with us for our great victory! Let the feast begin."
As he finished we all lifted our glasses and began to drink as food was brought out to us. I still couldn't believe how much they would serve and never felt like I could finish an entire dish before another was placed in front of us. I looked around the great hall and for once did not just see warriors and those who were forced to take lives, but a family. In our own ways, we were all connected to each other, especially those of us with the rings.
Harley waved Loki and me down to her table and we obliged.
"Okay, so Ivy and I need to tell y'all about these rings." Harley said, a little happily.
"So, since none of you got the black or red rings, you can take the rings off, but then they won't work if they're off your fingers." Ivy said with little to no emotion in her voice. "While they're on, especially the white rings, they will heal you and give you their powers from the entities."
"When you say heal, can they make us live longer?" I asked.
"From my understanding, yes. But why would you only worry about living longer?"
"What about fertility? Would it mess with the possibility if, say we would want children in the future?"
"No, anyone who wears them can still reproduce." She said, my line of questioning still not clicking in her head.
"So, for as long as I wear this, I won't grow old?"
"Yes, from my understanding."
I grinned widely as I looked up to Loki. "I can grow old with you, not before you. Daddy."
"You'll outlive us all. Are you sure about that, dear?" My father asked.
"Yes, Dad. The only thing I worried about when I was under the sleep and when we began our relationship was that I would grow old thousands of years before Daddy." My father still cringed at my nickname for Loki and I couldn't help but laugh a little. "I'll never stop unless we are addressing those that cannot know."
"It's still unnerving. But, I suppose it's probably a good thing you have the choice now."
I nodded happily. "I know it is. If it's possible for me to be welcomed into Valhalla with Daddy, I don't want it to be so long in between."
