"And?"

"And I heard people playing volleyball so I started watching then I saw you both and freaked out for no reason."

"Why would you freak out for no reason?"

"How am I supposed to know?"

"Whatever. Since you're here, do you want to play with us?"

"Can you just invite me like that without even asking your coach?"

"I'm sure coach will say yes anyway."

"Okay, if you say so."

You follow him inside and he leads you to the coach. "Hey, coach. This is (y/n)-chan. She wants to join practice today."

You bow politely and reintroduce yourself, "Nice to meet you. My name is (l/n) (f/n)."

He scans you and asks, "What position do you play?"

"Any position, sir."

He nods and tells you to go warm up. You follow Kuroo as he walks over to Kenma and shows you how you're supposed to stretch. You mimic their actions and the coach tells everyone that you're gonna start drills. First you do spiking (hitting), then setting (Kenma was really good), then receiving, and then blocking (Kuroo was great). The coach watches you closely throughout all the drills and calls you over when you're done.

"Listen here kid. You're gonna play the outside spiker (hitter) in the first set then the defensive specialist in the second set. For the third set, you'll be the opposite spiker (hitter). Any complaints?"

"No, coach. Just one question."

"What is it?"

"How long do I have to be here?"

"What?"

"I have to be home by 5."

He sighs and rubs his temples, "It won't take too long. You'll be home by 5."

"Thank you."

You jog back to the court and get ready for the first set. You cruise through the first and second sets and go through a slightly longer 3rd set.

It was really fun. You were running around hitting Kenma's sets, which were really easy to hit, while Kuroo blocked you occasionally from the other side of the net. It was the most fun you had since the last time you saw Tendou, which was almost a whole week ago.

I still can't believe it. Almost a whole week. I should probably get those pictures printed and sent.

You are sitting on the bench when you feel it shift as someone collapses next to you. You look over and see Kenma sweating bullets.

Dang, is he okay?

"Hey Kenma."

He groans in response.

"Do you want some water?" you ask while tilting your water in his direction.

He reaches his hand out to take it before chugging the rest.

I didn't say you could drink all of it. -_-

He falls on the floor and leans against the bench for support. You hand him a random towel and he starts wiping his sweat.

Kuroo approaches you from behind; chuckling. "Kenma doesn't like a lot of physical activity. He gets tired really easily. Isn't that right, Kenma?"

Kenma groans again and Kuroo laughs. You pull out your phone and check the time. 4:23 pm.

Good, I still have 37 minutes.

You get changed and leave the gym. The boys start walking and you follow them. You get a few streets away from the gym before Kenma turns to you.

"Why are you following us?"

Hold on- why am I following them?

You stop in your tracks and stare at your feet with wide eyes.

"Um (y/n)? Are you okay?" Kuroo asks in a concerned tone.

"I just realized I was unconsciously following you guys. What have you done to me?"

"Huh?"

"Never mind. I'm bored. Let's go somewhere."

"No thanks," Kenma declines, turning around.

"Are you sure? By somewhere I mean literally anywhere."

"Anywhere?" Kuroo questions your previous statement.

"Anywhere."

"How could you take us anywhere? You're literally 9," Kenma doubts.

"So are you. But unlike you, I have connections."

"Connections?" Kenma says in a disbelieving tone. "I doubt a 9 year old has many connections."

"Well..." you stretch out, circling them. "You'll have to come with me to find out."

You walk away and for a while think they're going to ignore you and go home. But you are fortunately proven wrong when you hear hesitant footsteps behind you. "So where are we going?" Kuroo asks, speeding up to walk next to you.

"That depends on you and Kenma. Where do you want to go? We got 25 minutes."

"Wait what? You can't just offer to take us anywhere and then put a 25 minute time limit on it."

"Well I'm sorry, but I have somewhere to be in the next 24 minutes."

"Fine. Kenma, where do you want to go?"

"Home."

"I doubt that. If you wanted to go home then you would have left by now," you point out.

He huffs out in annoyance and says, "Arcade."

"Arcade it is then."

You call a taxi and give directions for the nearest arcade. You get there in 5 minutes and you pay the driver before entering the arcade as noises of games, beeping, and people having fun fills your ears. You go to the counter and pay for 15 minutes worth of coins (don't ask for the ratio I couldn't tell you).

You distribute the coins among the three of you and Kenma goes off to play who knows what. Kuroo challenges you to a round of Dance Dance Revolution and you gladly accept. You both win one round each and we decide to go find Kenma.

He's sitting on one of the Mario Kart machines and destroying the competition. You and Kuroo join him in the next game and both lose miserably. You all then go to the claw machines and you win each of you one prize each between the 5 rounds you play. You then go off to play shooting games while Kenma and Kuroo do whatever.

You all meet up after a while and go to get prizes with all the tickets you gathered. You decided to spend yours on a bunch of candy and a stuffed animal. Kuroo gets some candy, a stuffed animal, and a small toy. Kenma gets a few pieces of candy, a small stuffed animal, and a giant toy. You exit the arcade with your new possessions and you call a taxi to take them home. You remember to give them your phone number this time and you said your goodbyes before you call a cab for yourself. You arrive at the shoot with all your prizes in your backpack and empty pockets.

You have a lollipop in your mouth and are about to walk up to the manager when you see Sato's car pull up. You decide to just get in and he asks you about the candy. You just tell him that the manager gave it to you and the rest of the ride is silent.

Hello, Dear Reader!

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I had a lot of fun writing the interactions between Kuroo, Kenma, and you!

Fun fact: Peonies embody romance and love, and are regarded as the omen of good fortune and happy marriage. They are the 12th wedding anniversary flower. Peony plants can live to be 100 years and still produce flowers.

Anyways, you are in for some wholesome scenes next chapter so I hope you'll come back again.

Goodbye, Reader-chan!
From you dear author-chan ☺️
