No.10

Gillion's little room was pretty basic. To be fair, there wasn't much to decorate on a ship, but it was very much Gillion's room. Something that the triton had started to to when he and the other two went to various islands and towns was to collect various shells or rocks, finding them interesting. Gillion's slowly increasing collection was on his bed, laid out in a chaotic way (though to Gillion the arrangement probably made a lot of sense). Chip looked at the bed strangely, pointing at the shells and rocks on it and looked to Gillion. He looked and his eyes lit up, a large smile appearing as he carefully picked all of them up. "Ah! It is my collection of rocks and some shells..! Pretzel and I were discussing our favourites, I was arranging them in order of best to worse for Pretzel...I was actually about to go up and ask both you and Jay for your opinions, but then you appeared at my door!" Gillion chuckled, placing the small collection in a small pouch, closing it for safekeeping of his valuables. Chip smiled softly watching how careful Gillion was with holding the items, finding it strangely sweet. He noticed he was lost in thought when Gillion was looking at him strangely again.

"Chip..? Are you sure you are alright? You aren't sick, are you? If you are then I must insist that we have this conversation at a later date when you are fully recovered and-" Chip waved his hands, his attempt of obviously stopping Gillion's now concerned train of thought. Jay was definitely right, Gillion was very much oblivious to Chip's awkwardness. Which he was both thankful for and annoyed with. Chip's back up plan was just for Gillion to figure out why Chip acts so weird around him, but clearly that was a pointless venture.
"No! No, no no. Gill, m'fine. I'm not sick. Just...nervous, I guess...I uh- I wanted to ask you about something- mainly...about a couple weeks ago, back in that puzzle room on the island..? I know I was weird after...we uh- opened the door or whatever, and that I keep avoiding the topic when you brought it up, but I-" Gillion was sitting on his bed, smiling softly up at Chip, patting the space he had left for him. Chip looked to Gillion, confused at the sudden action but sitting down anyway.
"I sensed that you were regret or disgusted by me kissing you, so when you also seemed to want to avoid the discussion of it, I decided to wait until you were comfortable..! I...I have been meaning to apologise about this for a while, Chip. Your comfort is extremely important to me, and I hate to think that I crossed any boundaries or lines for you in terms of that comfort. You are very important to me, so I apologise for kissing you, Chip..." Gillion nodded slowly. Chip could've sworn that Gillion seemed upset that he was apologising, but he wasn't the most confident in his skills to determine the triton's emotions right now.

"O-oh...You're...sorry." Chip felt his feelings sink slightly at his apology. He could practically hear Jay groan at him when he has to tell her that he did not go through with his 'plan' that he definitely had, instead he let Gill apologise to him about kissing him and left! He could already hear her complain about how annoying it'll be to watch the two of them continue like this. Honestly? Chip was getting pretty annoyed too. Not with Gillion, of course, besides his apology came about by Chip's avoidance of even acknowledging the kiss. "G-Gill...look, I...I know I was weird about the kiss, but...I- well what I'm trying to say is that...I.." Chip rolled his eyes and huffed, "You don't have to apologise. I...I didn't mind it as much as I probably seemed to,," Gillion's eyes widened, a small smile being just barely hidden.
"You...You didn't mind it..?" He tilted his head slightly, the small smile showing more when Chip nodded silently to confirm. Gillion shifted closer to the now embarrassed Chip, slowly raising his hand to help lift Chip's head by his chin, then cupping the brunette's cheek, speaking quieter now, his voice much softer than the other was used to. "Would...you mind if I did it again?"

Chip looked up to meet Gill's eyes as his head was lifted by him, blinking once as he processed what Gillion had asked. He quickly shook his head no, his words failing him. Gillion chuckled softly as he leaned in, keeping his hand on Chip's cheek, his thumb gently rubbing his cheek as his lips finally met with Chip's. The kiss was much less rushed than their first, slower and much more meaningful. Chip's eyes slowly closed as he leaned in a bit more, the space between the two getting smaller and smaller. The two continued for as long as they were both able to. It a longer kiss than their first, which both were very much okay with, though Gillion regrettably had to pull away for air, Chip slowly trying to follow after Gillion, his eyes opening when his lips remained untouched, looking up and smiling awkwardly at Gillion, a soft red blush dusting his cheeks as he noticed Gillion's cheeks being dusted with a darker blue than normal. Gillion returned the same awkward smile, it quickly turning into a small grin as he still held his hand to Chip's cheek, seeing that he was leaning into the affectionate touch.

"You...seem to have reacted much more positively to that kiss than the one before, Chip..." Gillion's voice was still soft and quiet, a large contrast to his usual loud and boisterous tone. It was surprisingly relaxing. Chip rolled his eyes fondly at Gillion's remark, though he supposed he wasn't wrong.
"Y-yeah well...you actually gave me a second to react this time..." Chip chuckled quietly, seeing Gillion hum in response to his sarcastic reply.
"Ah...So that is what I did wrong the first time...next time, I promise you I shall give you time to react ." Chip raised a brow at this.
"Next time..?" Chip smirked as the triton pulled his hand away slowly from Chip's face to allow him to nervously fidget, the dark blue he had taken notice of darkening, now dusting the tops of Gillion's ears.
"We-Well, I-I...I had just a-assumed that-" Chip snickered at Gillion's stammering, shaking his head and leaning close to him, placing his hand on Gillion's while leaning forwards and pecking his lips again, pulling away again after a few seconds.
"I'm messing with you, Gill...And you didn't do anything wrong last time...Just...shocked me. But it's all fine now, okay? No worries..." Gilling let out a sigh, nodding at Chip's words, smiling when he felt Chip kiss him again, immediately deciding that it was his favourite way of now being able to display affection towards the other.
"I-I see....Well either way I...am glad..." He nodded again before letting out another sigh, this one much softer and more content, glancing down while placing his other hand over the top of Chip's, gently rubbing his knuckles as he silently counted all of the freckles on Chip's hand.

Despite all of his worries, Chip was definitely happy that Jay had helped him, albeit it bluntly, to acknowledge his emotions. He was just happy to be able to be with Gillion the way he was right now. while the two sat there, Chip realised that he maybe wanted to be like this with Gillion long before the island or their first kiss. It was probably within the first few weeks of actually finding Gillion. He remembered how lost and scared Gillion had looked that, hating difference from the usual grinning expression he saw on Gillion.

Chip decided right there, as the two sat in comfortable silence, that he was do as much as he could to never let Gillion feel that way he had felt the day he found him. Gillion simply meant too much for Chip to lose now.

Gillion also made a promise. A promise to always protect Chip. He had made this promise already, promising to protect both Chip and Jay at all costs. But alongside that promise, Gillion swore to himself he'd absolutely do anything for Chip, destiny or not, Champion or not. He would not let any harm come to Chip, even if it meant sacrificing himself. Chip simply meant too much for Gillion to lose now.
