Travel Down in the Dark (Naruto)

Chapter 8

He was still staring at my so I slowly walked up to him and said, "sir? Are you alright?"

That snapped him out of his trance. "I'm sorry it's just no one has ever been able to pick up that scythe...how did you?"

'Huh so I'm the only one who can wield? Hey Yami does this have anything to do with you?'

"Yes young one it does its name is, Tamashisutira (ta-mash-ee-sue-tira) meaning soul stealer. I made him from a spirit who was a cold blooded killer yet wanted to repent in the afterlife. I placed him here for you years ago. He can only be handled by you for I made him for you."

I stared at Tamashisutira with awe. To me he didn't seem that heavy. I looked up at the blacksmith, "I don't really know...it just called to me. So may I discuss the price now?"

He shook his head and said, "you may take it no one has been able to so you can have it. It looks like it chose you. There was a story behind this scythe saying how the grim reaper himself made this and that only his successor could wield it."

I laughed knowing how real that was, nodding my head I made my way to leave but he shoved in my hands two triangle sheaths. They were gorgeous. They were black with white wisps all over them making it look like fog. I put Tama, the new nickname for him, in his sheaths and strapped him to my back. I walked out the door throwing a thanks over my shoulder continuing my walk once again to the Hokage building.

As I was walking the scythe kept hitting my shoulder hurting it. 'If only it could be smaller.' I sighed and if like magic the scythe transformed in a black leather bracelet with a silver wolf head on it. Two silver metal chains went of each side. I stared at it with awe, took off one of my black gloves and put the bracelet on instead then I continued walking.

When I finally made it to the familiar red building I walked up the stairs to the Hokage's office. I knocked twice and waited for a few seconds before I heard a rough 'come in' from the Hokage. I entered the room to see Inochi, Ibiki, and the Hokage. I bowed and walked over to a chair, "now we shall begin with the process, do you agree?"

"Yes I agree Lord Hokage," I said in monotone voice.

The Hokage nodded to Inochi. He walked up to me and preformed the jutsu going into my head I closed my eyes and entered with him.

When I opened my eyes I saw a familiar horrifying layout. In front of us stood the streets of New York City. It looked similar except this time it was covered with all the dead bodies I had killed over the last few years in both dimensions. Also in front of us stood five different me's. Going from left to right, one was about the age of four, next the age of six, nine, fifteen and then back to five. All of them were covered with blood worsening at each one.

Inochi went up to the first one and touch her head. He flinched back to surprise of the memories he got. He then walked over to the six year old. He squeaked and backed away scared. Next the nine year old he almost screamed in fear. Then he went to the fifteen year old. She was the me right before I died in my old world. She covered with blood, all over her arms and legs but you could still see skin. This time he did scream when he touched her. Lastly he looked over at the five year old me. She was literally covered in blood yet she was smiling like a maniac. He looked back at me with fear, yet I just stared blankly at him. I nodded and smiled sadly at him for reasurance. He nodded back at me before touching the five year old. This time he screamed like bloody murder and then fainted in my mind, like really how did that happen.

I then closed my eyes and opened them back out of my mind. Inochi stood in front of me looking terrified. The Hokage and Ibiki stood there looking worried. I smiled sadly again waiting for Inochi to speak to them. He turned to them and said shakily, "she is telling the truth and is not a threat."

They both nodded slowly but the Hokage asked confused, "why are you so nervous and freaked out?"

Inochi looked down mumbling something about my mind and it being a horrible place. He told them a brief of what he saw. They both turned to me with pity in their eyes and I smiled. "I trust you Kurai but I must ask you to leave now we have other matters to discuss. Kakashi should be waiting for you at training field twelve so you better be on your way."

I nodded standing up and bowing then left the room. I walked back down the stairs and out toward training twelve knowing Kakashi wouldn't be there but I needed to be alone for a while. Seeing the past shook me up a bit.

I arrived at the field and saw it was the one team seven does the bell test on. I smiled jumping up onto the middle stump.

The wind blew my hair out of my face. I smiled remembering a song I used to sing. It was a melody I somehow rememebered my parents singing yet i can't remember there faces. I whistled the tune and the wind started to pick it up another gift I got from Yami. I opened my mouth and started singing.

The wind finished the toon as I heard clapping behind me, I turned around so fast I fell off the stump. I face planted the ground, "ita!"

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." I heard a monotone voice say. There stood Kakashi, Guy, Ibiki and the Hokage. Guy ran up to me tears streaming down his face, "MY LITTLE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH. THERE IS NO NEED TO FEAR I WILL PROTE-" I interrupted him by me kicking him the stomach making him fly back into the trees. The others sweat dropped at me looking over at the unconscious Guy. "Sorry" I replied sheepishly.

They all chuckled at my response. I bowed to them all but became serious when the Hokage said, "now Kurai we will have you fight Kakashi in order to access you currant level but regulars less we will put you on a genin team."

I nodded and went to one side of the training field while Kakahi went to the other. Lord Hokage and Ibiki stood in the middle now surrounded by other Shinobi. Ibiki stepped foward with an arm raised and yelled, "BEGIN!"

And so I dashed at him.
