leaving the room, the two managed to keep their movements quiet in order to prevent the rest of the house to stir awake, not wanting them to be brought into the fight that was going to be occurring outside the front of the manor.

"what about tia?" marcus whispered to alec, the raven-haired boy looking down to the boy beside him- the height difference between alec and marcus being significantly large.

"did you really think i would not wake up my sister and let the youngest sibling have all the fun?" alec commented, marcus shrugging his shoulders to his question. "gosh marcus- sometimes i wonder how your mind works."

marcus looked at alec, a scoff leaving his lips as the two boys walked down the corridor, heading in the direction of tiana's room.

"you two are up early."

stopping in their tracks, alec and marcus turned around to see samuel leaning against the wall behind them. he watched as the two boys exchanged looks before alec focused his eyes back on his uncle.

"yeah- me and tia are going to train marcus on knife throwing." marcus nodded his head immediately after alec spoke, making the lie that the grey brother had spoke sound all the more true.

"knife throwing? i could do with some practice myself actually. let me go get lili and we-"

"-no." marcus blurted out. alec mentally slapped both himself and marcus as samuel looked at the younger boy, his eyebrow raising.

"hiding from my niece are you marcus?"

"no."

"then what's the problem with me inviting lilith to knife throwing training? or was that just an excuse to divert me from seeing that jason is outside with lilith right now?"

the two boys gulped, the silence answering the uncle of alec's question, samuel just shaking his head. "yes I've seen her standing outside right now. it's currently just a stand off right now between the two." samuel said, a little laugh escaping his lips as he leaned off the wall, straightening himself up.

"get your sister and meet me downstairs." alec nodded his head, turning away from his uncle to continue his walk to tiana's room. marcus also turned away, joining alec with walking down the corridor.

"marcus. you're with me."

"so what was your plan jason? just come to the house, make it through the gates, and that what?" lilith asked her brother, the estranged boy stepping towards lilith, the sudden movement however haven't not made any difference to lilith's stance. no fear, no sudden flinching was made by the girl- she instead just stood there, staring blankly at her psychotic brother.

"i heard you used to have psychotic breaks lilith. is that true?"

"you wouldn't want to find out if i was you."

"no? well i think i do. I'm curious- what triggered that in you? surely something did." jason spoke, lilith noticing his words were not full of anything sinister but instead of pure curiosity- that catching lilith slightly off guard.

"why do you even want to know?" lilith asked, the narrowing of her eyes making it clear to jason that this was not a conversation she wanted to have- especially with him.
