She hadn't

"Okay class, I'll start the lesson in a bit, I just need to drop these off with Mrs. Handa-"

"I'll do it." the entire class stared at Hori as she stood on her tiptoed with her arm straight up. The teacher was taken aback, clearing her throat before she gave a small smile towards one of the only students who seldom said a word. "Thank you, Hori, we'll wait until you get back to begin this week's lesson."

Hori nodded and hurried to the front of the class to grab the stack of papers, giving a small bow before heading out into the hall. Speed walking through the halls and up the stairs to the second year floor, Hori peeked through all the classes until she saw ahead of a terrible shade of yellow hair.

Mrs. Handa was currently not in the classroom, giving Hori a chance to leave the papers on her desk and try to make her way to the back unnoticed. The students weren't at their desks, grouping up and talking with their friends before their teacher came back. Atsumu was talking to the boy who sat next to him, now and then texting Osamu on his phone.

She had the second-year setter in her line of sight, only a few rows before she reached him.

Things had happened without her knowing, the wooden floor suddenly crashing into her face. Hori sucked the pain through her teeth, sitting up and holding her nose as she looked up. It was like the entire world was cornering her as students covered their laughs while others discretely took out their phones to record.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't see you." a girl with flowing auburn hair and sea blue eyes crouched to the floor as her fingers grazed Hori's arm in a sense of comfort. Hori was still biting down on her tongue due to the stinging pain in her nose, ignoring the hand that was offered to her and standing up. Her eyes were kept on the ground, feeling gazes burning into her back as she tried to push her way through the crowd. Quickly removing her hand she saw blood had stained it, silently cursing as she tried to rub off the blood that had fallen onto her shirt.

"Hori? Are you okay? What are you doing here?" Atsumu was suddenly in her way, Hori stumbling back when her forehead bumped into his chest. Her eyes narrowed at him, about to just ask him if he'd seen Y/n so she could leave.

"Oh, you know her? She's a first year, right?" the girl had returned and stood next to Atsumu, smiling down at Hori with gleaming white teeth. "My name is Cecelia, and I'm really sorry again. I can walk you to the nurses-"

Hori could still hear the snickering and whispers, face burning from humiliation as she pinched her nose to try and stop the bleeding. "You broke my nose, not my legs. I can walk just fine, thanks." sarcasm and irritation laced her voice, sending a glare towards the girl before shoving Atsumu out of her way and leaving.

The first year stormed down the hallway, the echoing cackles and whistles following her until she reached a bathroom. Looking in the mirror she noticed blood smeared on her lower face and shirt, brows furrowed as she scoffed, turning on the faucet to cleanse herself with cold water.

"What a fake bitch." she mumbled under her breath, the innocent smile that girl had making Hori want to nail her in the head with a volleyball. How dumb did they think she was? Hori already knew her upperclassmen weren't the fondest of her, always hearing the gossip and always noticing the side glances. So she doubted Cecilia just happened to stick out her foot from where she was sitting when Hori was passing by, anyone who thinks otherwise is full of bullshit.

Hori gave one last look in the mirror before heading back to her class, the front of her shirt damp from trying to wash off the blood and some bruising was starting form on her nose and under her eyes. Thankfully the bleeding had stopped for now, but she'll still have to see the nurse after school.
