Holland: Belum mau balik?
Holland: Jam berapa sudah ni?

I looked at the top of my handphone screen. It’s only 8.50pm. Awal pula dinner start tadi, before 7pm lagi.

Saya mau reply kah tidak ni? Kenapa juga dia risau kalau saya lambat sikit balik? I’m only at his parents’ house, bukan di mana-mana pun.

Holland: Lambat sudah ni.
Holland: I locked the front door.
Holland: Masuk from the back gate.

Saya tidak tau apa mau reply. Tapi baru saya mau reply ‘bah’, masuk lagi another message. Saya menghela nafas berat.

Holland: Kau sesat?

HUH?!

Holland: Lupa jalan pulang?

WHAT?!

I looked at my handphone screen with a blank expression. Then saya terasa hati saya memanas. It’s only before 9pm! Yang dia tu beberapa hari sudah limpas 12 tengah malam pun belum pulang-pulang juga. Saya ni di rumah ibubapa dia saja and it’s not even midnight.
