"You've had a large reputation back then, am I right? So that must mean that you were paid well or treated differently? Well, how about, if you bring that girl back to us and the scientists. We'll treat you like a king, money, food, a large safe home to stay in, a warm bed, maybe even a woman to satisfy your needs." She said as she looked the stranger in the eye.

The man chuckled before leaning closer, the group of 3 were waiting behind him as Coyote's group watched the four.
"I don't need these children to come with me-"
"You'll need protection out there, plus they know you. . . Or heard your name before. You 4 will bring her back, do whatever you can. Just for safe measure, Joan, Peter, and Jack, you three go with them too. Now!" She ordered.

They ran to the other 3 and waited.
"Bring her back. . . As soon as you can. We need that cure." She said.

~Y/n pov~

We left the school late at night, sneaking away silently to not draw attention to ourselves. Comrade sniffed out a trail for us as Erwin and Micheal stayed in the front.

Levi was walking with Hange as she talked about the spread of the bites and the dead being alive, he seemed to get tired of it before strolling over closer to me.
"She won't shut up." He mumbled.
"Heh. . . She seems to love the dead." I shuddered.
"She's always trying to gather knowledge and find out what these things really are-"
"They're people that were bitten." I replied.
"Are you scared?" He questioned.

"When I'm alone. . ."
"When we had your brother, me and Hange were interegating him. No matter how many punches or kicks he received. . . He just laughed and said your name multiple times. Saying that you hit harder than I do, or his old man packs more of a hit than anyone." He scoffed.
"Was he scared?" I asked.
"No. . . He just smiled whenever he said your name."
"When I was gone for those months. . . Comrade was the only one I had with me."
"He protected you?"
"Yeah. . . He likes to jump kick the dead if their running for me." I said.

Hange began to bombard Micheal with questions about where he and I came from, our home, what we know about the dead, how it started, what can kill them off and other things. Levi stayed close to me as we walked, he calmly told me about their gear called 3D manuerving gear or ODM gear.

How it works, how it was used to slay titans, how the 50 meter walls kept them safe for years until the colossal Titan destroyed the outer gate and how the armored Titan destroyed the second gate.
"Many died that day." He finished.
"I'm sorry about that. . . I have no idea how terrified those people might be." I muttered.
"We've been through worse. . . Turns out those crappy titans are more titan shifters. The cadets named Reiner, Bertolt, and Annie." He scowled.

"They sound like traitors."
"Because they are." He added.
"Levi?" I asked.
"What?"
"How many have you killed?"
"Lost count."
". . . I was talking about humans. . ."
"Like I said. . . I lost count."

We stayed quiet after that. He lost count of how many people and titans he had killed. That world sounds more brutal and terrorizing than this one. They did have walls until those traitors broke it down.

I clenched my fists around my gun strap and looked at Micheal. I wish I could hear what he was thinking in that dumb head of his. He really wanted to find dad, but how would they even greet each other. Will dad even be alive by the time we find him- no, I mustn't think like that!

My dad is alive. . . He is. He is a survivor, he lived through mom and my little siblings losses, he can push through this nightmare.

"Y/n." Levi said.
"Yes?"
"How many people have you killed?"
". . . I haven't."

Levi kept his eyes on the road as we walked, I glanced away before looking back and from the corner of my eye, I thought I saw his eyes move away from me.
