Tundra finally came back with Ms Barbera and her family, Izzy and Mr Buchanan's oldest daughter, he hadn't managed to get anyone else. When he told me what had happened and how he had the devils job to get them to come along I was impressed but saddened. He promised he would go back and try to rescue her parents and smaller sister, God only knows what kind of punishment they could be facing.

"I'm glad you have returned safely and thank you for bringing them," I told him.

That night when we made love he kissed my belly and spoke all kind of lovely things to the baby inside, it made me laughed happily and we went to sleep after but deep in the night my worry came back. Mr Buchanan's oldest daughter was accused of taking things from a man and was sent to live with him. Tundra had to rescue her from the man's house, she had been there for two days when he finally persuade Izzy to call out the man and then he snatched her and took them away. What kind of laws allows this I asked myself, she was just fifteen and no good man will want her as a wife or personal girlfriend once they knew that she had been a man's housegirl.

"Sweety? Sweetheart what's wrong?" Tundra asked worriedly.

I didn't realized I had started crying, I told him what had happened and that I had chosen prison rather than to go with the man. That Rafique took me to live with Ms Blair and how badly she had treated me, hiding the food and making me go hungry and how she and Miska ate my fishes.

He sighed deeply and said. "Ok listen calm down, don't get worked up right now,"

I tried to relax and went back to sleep, but when I awake in the morning he was gone. Nayla came to take my sister to school and she brought my mother.

"Your loverboy came and woke me from my nice comfortable sleep, now what is your problem?" She asked stretching out on the couch.

"If you weren't my mother I would kick you," I told her and we both started laughing.

She combed my hair for me which had grown longer now that I could care for it better, she had gained a lot of weight, but she better not put on any more. That weekend ice-cream parlour job has contributed to her having every flavour ice-cream in her refrigerator.

"Chunany how come you don't ask me for any of the money you left in my keep or what I took from the truck?" She asked me while rope twisting my hair nicely.

"Because loverboy has a lot and I'm not in need of any," I told her and she laughed.

"Mom, don't you miss Rafique and the others?" I asked her.

She hissed. "I could kick Tundra for not kidnapping us a long time ago, over here is so nice and peaceful. The people are so friendly and respectful here, the lady that lives next door to me says whenever I need anything, I shouldn't be afraid to ask. Though I'm not in need of anything because everything I want and need is available, it feels good that people are actually willing to give of what they had. It's hard to believe people like this exist, I am so thankful that God has finally answered my prayers. I-am-free," she finished.

I was very thankful to God, also but I felt guilty, Rafique did help us and took us out of poverty and hunger. I wondered if he missed me and our baby, he was pressuring sometimes but maybe he had truly loved me I thought. Then I remembered his confession about being with other women and my heart hurt.

Tundra stood up from the play area he was making for Raquema, she would only be able to use it in the dry seasons.
She was getting bigger and could walk properly now, ascending and descending both steps without assistance and we have to keep the basement door close from her. Mom says she is like a little whirlwind and we have to be putting everything out of her reach.

"Who or what organizations rules the island Tundra?" I asked.

He knit his brows above his eyes and asked. "Why do you ask that?"

I looked at him meaningfully.

"Cuearry," he said looking distant.

Whosoever Cuearry was he probably had to answer to also, whoever he was I was thankful to him for keeping this place so peaceful and nice. We went to the guest house where everyone who came to the island normally stays until they found a home for themselves. Barbera and the others were settling in and they are still in disbelief that this place is real.

Me and my mother took a short walk to look around the beautifully kept property. "It had been lovely staying here," she murmured.

"Mom do you know who rules the island?" I asked her.

"I should be asking you that question," she said in response.

"Do you know or heard of a Mr Cuearry?" I asked.

"Oh! Francis mentioned something about his co-workers referring to that name, it seems the person is well respected and an humble being, since you don't hear anyone bragging," she answered.

My belly bumb was getting bigger as the time goes by, I love the simplicity of our lives, the equality and the way things just seemed to flow. Tundra took us for groceries this Friday evening, he would be going away to the mainland to try and rescue Mr Buchanan and his family. I still haven't told him what Ms Barbera had told me yet, I will do it when we get home I told myself.

Taking up the last bag of potato chips, I thought how lucky I am because this one taste so good and was mostly sold out. The bag of chips was snatched rudely from my grasp, I turn around and Ms Blair was walking away placing it into her basket.

"Hey that's mine?" I shouted going after her, she ignored me and joined the cashier line. I tried to take it back from her basket, while persons turn to look at us.
