Chapter One | The House Party

Start from the beginning

She forgets the thought when she gulps down what she thinks is whisky. Putting the cup down with a wince, she reaches for the bottle to pour another before being stopped by a firm hand coming from the other side of the small counter.

Frustration and anger boils in her stomach; Toni looks up from her cup to see a tall dark haired girl with the most huge hoop ears Toni has ever seen.

(If Toni was being honest, she looked really high. Her eyes were drooped and she wore a... weird expression.)

"Woah, chill out... Save some for the rest of us," the girl says, her words loopy and a little bit slurred.

Toni yanks her hand back quickly, but the tone to the girl's voice kills off her frustration and anger almost immediately.

(For some reason, she can't find it in her to get mad at high people. It was probably because most of her foster parents ended up being in that state most of the time.)

"Jesus. Fine, have it," Toni spits, pushing the bottle towards the girl. "Just don't touch me again. "

Toni always hated being touched by strangers. She always felt uneasy whenever someone so much as tapped, pat, or hugged her; the latter making her push the person who did it away-- anyone other than Martha, that is.

(Everyone just seemed so... dangerous, you know?)

So, this girl suddenly grabbing her? Yeah, she's obviously going to  step away. Ick.

The girl seems to sober up a little, but still chooses takes the bottle that was shoved towards her.

"Thanks."

She drinks half of what's left before eyeing a tense Toni, who seems to be scanning the table for any somewhat clean drinks.

When Toni sees that there are none, she suddenly regrets giving up the alcohol so easily. She has thoughts of leaving the table, but doesn't at the sudden wave of the girls hand, gesturing her closer.

"Y'know what," she says, fully catching Toni's attention, "I think... You need this more then I do at the moment... Loosen up'abit, whydon'tcha?"

She shakily holds the bottle by it's neck, extending the bottom towards Toni. She gives a smug smile, before pushing it towards her again. Toni looks at her with a bit of confusion, but takes it, mumbling a 'Thank you,' in return.

The girl grins at that as a response.

"It's n'problem. I'm... I'm Fatin. You?"

Toni raises an eyebrow, taking a sip from the drink she'd just been handed. "I'm Toni."

Fatin smiles goofily, dropping the somewhat serious face she'd had on just a minute ago when she handed Toni the bottle. This makes Toni think that maybe it 'had' been a good idea for her to hand over the drink-- 'she looks like she's about to fall over,' she thinks.

It turns out her thought is true, because 'Fatin' starts swaying on the stop with a dazed look in her eyes. Toni's eyes widen and she rushes around the counter to her, putting one of Fatin's arms around her shoulder. She sneaks a glance at the drunk girl on her shoulder.

"Um..." Toni says, clutching onto Fatin's torso as tight as she could, "Do you have someone I can bring you to? If there is, could you like, describe them? No offence, but I don't want to have to support you for the rest of the night."

"Uhm... Er... I think... Dot. Yes. Dot," Fatin mumbles. "Thanks.. stranger."

Toni raises an eyebrow, adjusting her grip on Fatin; the girl kept sliding off, which was making things harder for them to stay upright. To make it worse, Toni was significantly shorter, so whenever Fatin swayed a to the side a bit too much, she nearly went down with her.
