Receptionist: Welcome to "Woman to Woman OB/GYN". Do you need to set up an appointment or are you here for one?

Akeylah: We're here for an appointment at 1:30.

Receptionist: Oh yes. Akeylah?

Akeylah: Yes ma'am.

Receptionist: Okay. I just need you to fill out this form and then when you are finished, you can bring it up and I'll take you both back okay?

She nodded as she grabbed the clipboard and pen from the woman and we both went and sat down in the chairs in the waiting room.

Akeylah: Before I fill this out, what are we doing about the costs for visits...I mean, I know we have insurance but we could also come out of pocket and still be fine.

Tyler: The insurance will cover it so we'll just use that. Why come out of pocket when we don't have to?

Akeylah: Smart.

Five minutes later she was done filling out the forms and took the clipboard back to the receptionist.

Receptionist: Okay. If you two would follow me...

She walked from around the desk and opened the door for us as we walked inside. She then lead us to an empty room.

Receptionist: The doctor will be with you shortly so sit tight.

After that, she left the room and Key sat on the bed.

Tyler: (grins) I'm so fucking hyped! I hope we get to see the little nigga.

Akeylah: According to my "Oh sis, You're Pregnant!" book...that's not this appointment. This is just the basics. But we are far along enough to be able to hear a heart beat.

Tyler: Damn...I wanted to see it but a heartbeat works too.

Akeylah: Oh, yeah! When we leave, remind me that we need to stop and so I can get some prenatal vitamins.

Tyler: I can just get them.

Akeylah: Tyler. I know you're going to drive your car when we get back to the house. It's either we get it before we get to the house or I'll get it myself because you and I both know that you're gonna be gone for a while.

Tyler: Alright babe. We'll go after.

Just then, an older black woman walked into the room.

"Are you Mr. and Mrs. Okonma?"

T+A: Yes.

"Hi. I'm Dr. Bailey, I'm going to be your OB/GYN during this whole process."

She walked over and shook both of our hands as she grabbed the rolling chair in the room and took a seat.

Dr. Bailey: Okay. Before I start asking questions, how are you both doing today? Excited?

Tyler: (grins) I'm stoked. I've been waiting for this moment since we found out.

Akeylah: (giggles) I'm doing well today. My husband thought we were going to see the baby and I had to tell him that wouldn't be today.

Dr. Bailey: You're right. That wouldn't be for a few more weeks. So now, I just need to ask you a few questions before we start anything else okay?

Akeylah: Okay.

Dr. Bailey: Do you have any current medical issues or psychosocial problems?
