CHAPTER 9--- Precious Prey

“What is this place?” tanong ni Aria kay Zach. This place doesn’t look like vampire world to her. The ambiance of this place is different… it feels triumphant here.

“This place is where the Blue Clan resides. They possess a great stack of knowledge. Meaning if we’re gonna hide from the strength of the Crimsons and the Agility of the Royal Red Clan this place is the perfect spot for us. Besides vampires living here is not as bad as those two Clans. We can’t go back to my place… it’s not safe anymore.”  Seryoso nitong wika. Then Zach move again so fast and the next thing she knew is that they are already on a room full of medical equipment’s. Iniupo sya ni Zach sa kama then her eyes encounter his. Na ilang sya. Hindi pa nya nararamdaman ang ganoong feeling sa buong buhay niya. She always feels confident and self-assured sa ginagawa nya… and now, malapatan lang ng mata nito ang mga mata nya nawawala na sya sa focus.

“Ahmmm… is it ok if we get in here?” tanong niya dito na uneasy pa din

“Yeah, Dr. Axel is my bestfriend he knows that we’re gonna be here.” Anito na hindi pa din lumalayo sa kanya. Nakatitig lang ito and seriously, unreadable pa din ang makha nito.

“Why..are y..you staring at me like… that?” taka niyang tanong dito.

Bumuntonghininga ito pero hindi pa din lumalayo sa kanya. Grabe ha, hindi ba nito alam ang salitang distance? “I just thought you’re… it’s my fault kung bakit ka nakuha ni Cara.” Anito then looked down. Napangiti si Aria. This vampire makes her wonder. He is an exact representation of coldness… his stare, his touch even his breath but he is also a vampire with a warm heart. Aria’s scratched and blooded hands holds his face then lift it up… nagsalubong ang kanilang mga mata.

“It’s not your fault.” Sincere na wika niya.

“No.”anito at umiwas ng tingin sa kanya. His cold hands touches her hand na nakahawak pa din sa pisngi nya. Ibinaba nito ang mga iyon. “You don’t deserve all this pain.”

“May mabuti namang maidudulot ang pagkidnapped ni Cara sa akin… I discovered that… they are looking for a theory na ako lang daw ang nakakaalam.” Ani Aria trying to reason out everything.

Iimik pa sana si Zach nang bumukas ang pinto. Pumasok ang isang gwapong doctor wearing a doctors coat like humans do. Halos kaedad lamang din ito ni Zach. Black hair, blue eyes and have a fair complexion.

“Zach!!” nakangiti nitong bati sa kaibigan. Lumapit si Zach sa doctor at nagtapikan ang mga ito sa balikat like normal boys kapag nagkikita. Para din pala silang mga tao ang pinagkaiba lng these vampires have an immortal life.

“Axel… This is Aria she’s the one I’m telling you.”

“Great! You’re a nullifier!” di makapaniwala nitong wika. “I never thought I’m gonna meet you. I’m Dr. Axel from the Blue Clan.” Anito then nakita ang mga sugat niya.

“The Crimsons…” magpapaliwanag pa sana si Aria pero nagsalita na agad si Axel.

“I know. They tortured you so bad.” Anito at kumuha ng mga medical supplies  sa bag crash cart. Ininspect nito ang sugat nya sa paa at sa likod. “This is pretty bad and needs stitching.” said Axel while inspecting her wounds in the back. “Any trouble breathing?”

“No… my breathing’s fine. Just needs a little rest… I guess.” Sagot niya kay Axel.

“Ahmmm I’m gonna go outside. Call me when it’s done Axel.” Ani Zach at dirediretsong lumabas ng pinto na parang di mapakali. Kaya naman nagtatakang nagtanong si Aria.

“What’s with him? He seems uneasy?”

“Haha..” tawa ni Axel. “Zach hates to see people being struck by a needle. For living a thousand years nagawa na halos naming lahat ni Zach… being a lawyer, an engineer, a fisherman, a plumber… anything you can imagine. And now I am a doctor and he is kinda spy or agent but he never tried to become a doctor.” Anito then starts to clean the lacerations in her legs. “And he seems to be uncontrolled to her feelings towards you.”
