It connects four towers, walls were all brick and painted white, I wonder how they maintain it, I mean, it's HUGE.

There was a golden gate in front of us, two guards guarding it. Keqing showed a silver badge at them, and they opened the gates for us. The first thing that appeared was a big yard.

I had always liked nature, but never have I seen such a majestic garden before. It was full of different flowers and plants, neatly planted in rows. There was a beautiful fountain in the middle, on it was a statue of a person, hands together in front of him. Pristine water flowed out of his hands, my mouth gaped open in awe.

"You can come here in the future." Keqing smiled at me.

My eyes shone with excitement, I kind of appreciated getting chosen now.

This isn't so bad.

"Come with me, I'll dress you up." Keqing pulled me with her.

"H-huh?" I tilted my head.

"You don't expect to meet Prince Xiao in those right?" She pointed at my clothes.

I felt a little offended, what's wrong with my clothes?

But what can you expect from the royal family?

I walked out of the dressing room in a simple white striped shirt and jeans.

I was expecting something more formal but oh well.

Keqing clapped her hands together. "Perfect!"

She quickly dragged me out of the room and down the hallway.

"Hey! I can walk you know!" I whined.

She finally let go of me.

We walked together down the large hallway.

Did it need to be so large? My legs were sore.

Keqing finally stopped in front of a door. It didn't fit the whole theme of the palace. It was all grand, white and bright but this door ruined the aesthetic. It was a simple door painted black. I guess the prince is a minimalist, huh.

Keqing knocked on the door and was replied with a faint 'come in'. She gestured me to go in.

I gulped and slowly opened the door.

He doesn't remember what happened earlier right...? I don't wanna get locked up in some dungeon.

Prince Xiao was sitting on a bed reading a book. He was wearing a simple plain black hoodie and ripped jeans. His room was all dark colours, never knew he was this kind of a guy.

I'd say it looked rather plain, other than the bed and a table with a chair at the corner, there's not much other furniture in there.

He was so engrossed with the book I don't think he noticed me coming in.

"Uhm, Prince Xiao?" I called out.

He slightly jumped at my voice. He turned around and looked at me.

"Oh, Venti right? Just call me Xiao." He said with a cold tone.

Oh, I don't think he remembers.

"Oh, um, Xiao." I nodded.

"Sit wherever you want." He said while still reading his book.

I looked around and decided to sit beside him on the bed.

He sighed and finally closed his book.

"So here's the deal." He stared at me seriously. "I don't like you, and you don't like me. Do whatever you want, I don't concern myself with you. We just need to act like couples in front of people, got it?"

Wow,  rude.

The first thing he said to me was this?

I'm already starting to hate this guy.

"Xiao," I stared back at him, smiling sweetly, "we are a couple. Shouldn't you be trying to get along with me?"

He went back to reading.

"What's the point?"

I got kinda angry, so I raised my voice a little. "How are we going to live with each other if we don't get along, Xiao?"

"We don't live together, your room's down the hallway."

I was pissed off. I stood up abruptly.

"Is THIS how you treat your FIANCE?"

"I don't even know you. How annoying." He glared at me.

"YOU THINK I'M SCARED OF YOU HUH? GUESS WHAT, I'M NOT!" I crossed my arms.

He stared at me tiredly. "I can see that."

Breathe in Venti. Breathe out.

Calm down.

He's just being mean because he feels like you're a stranger, try to approach him friendlier.

I smiled at Xiao.

"Forgive me for my outburst earlier, but I still think we should try to get along with each other, right?" I said gently.

"Whatever, I need to go train now."

He left the room without batting an eye at me.

I feel so frustrated I wanted to break something.

I already know I won't like my time here.

Oh Lord, help me.
