The lights went out, the hall was darker then I thought it would be if there was a blackout. I couldn't hear Milo trying to break free anymore. Before my eyes could get use to the dark, a flash of bright light filled the hall. My heart began to race as Crystal yelled out Milo's name.

One by one the lights came on. The air was filled with the smell of burning flesh. I slowly got up as the last few lights turn on. I was in shock when I saw all four of Sue's guys on the floor. I smiled to see Milo still standing. Milo look down at the guy who was holding him. "I told you."

Sue stood there frozen as she watches Milo help me get to my feet. Her face was covered in jealousy which I think wasn't a good look for her. We walk past her, she could only stare. This was the longest I've ever heard her not saying a single word.

"You can't," she yelled. I look back at her and she was pissed. She really wanted to be my mate but then again she was supposed to be my mate before Milo was born. "I won't let you!"

"Look I'm going to let this be an accident on jealousy on your behalf," I told her. I thought it would was the right thing to do. I hope don't come back and bite me in the ass. "If it does or Milo is harm cause of you. I make sure you are exile."

Her dark cold eyes narrow on me then move to Milo. I could feel my beast stirring up again but my mate gentle touch quickly calming him. We watch as she literally stomps down the hall and her helpless guys soon got up and follow her. Andrew came running around the corner to where we were. "What happen, what I miss?"

All I did was gone to sit down near some lockers. Crystal and Drake filled Andrew in on what had happen while Milo was by my side. My body was drain from holding back my beast. Normally it was a breeze holding him from getting out but today it took everything in me to cage him.

"It's the Alpha Markings," said Milo as if he was reading my mind. I ask him how he knows for sure and he told me that he did his research. He's smart and cute I thought. Milo went on to say that the power of the Alpha Markings not only does enhance my powers as alpha but also my inner beast would get stronger. "Your beast is getting a taste of the Alpha Markings but it should soon pass."

"I see," closing my eyes trying to relax. We have already missed more then half of class fooling around with Sue crazy ass. I didn't see the rush to head to class for thirty minutes. Milo rests his head on my shoulder. After that display of power, taking out all four guys like that. "You tired?"

"No not really," he answered. I guess his training with his mother was doing its job. "It was a simple flash bomb spell that targets up to four people."

'Nice. Those symbols that you talk about were visible."

"I know I could feel them burning as I chant the spell." He said softly. I look down him, he lift his head up so we can look each other in the eyes. "That spell was way more powerful then it should have been. It was supposed to paralyze them not fried them to a crisp."

"Your mother said that your power does-"

"I used that spell several times in the past and it never done this." He said cutting me off. I didn't know if here was worried or more afraid but the one sure thing is that I will be here for him. "I think it was cause by the symbols."

Giving a little more thought that could be the reason. Looking down at his arms the symbols were gone. I rub my hands down his arm. I could feel the heat from where the marks were. I wonder if they cause him a lot of pain when they appear. Our silent's was broken by the loud noises from my stomach. Milo just laughs at me.

"Lets get out off here," I told him as I got up and help him up. By the look he gave me he's not the type to ditches school. I insure him that he would be ok. After all I am the son of the alpha. I garb hold of his hold and lead the way. "Let's go."

Milo's P.O.V.

We ate at this little Italian restaurant downtown before he drop me off at home. It was nice spending time together just being us two. I wave to him as he drove off down the street. I took a moment before going in. I notice that it was getting colder and the days were shorter. I figure snow would be here soon.

I made my way in and towards the kitchen to see if my mother was home. Lately she has been busy helping planning the Thanksgiving Day with Luke's mother. They seem to close as if they were sisters. I never would have thought that two women of high status would get along so well. "Mom I'm home.

"She not here," said Nicole, closing the refrigerator. She was carrying bags of fruits to the countertop and started to go through them. "Crystal told me what happen today."

"It wasn't that bad."

"I know but why you didn't text me that you was going to skip class." Said ask me without looking at me. "You know I don't like my dance class."

She busts out laughing when she look at me. I guess the expression on my face was priceless. Besides from that I really needed to tell her something. So I just blurted it out. "I'm having the ceremony the day after thanksgiving."

She stops in med laugh after what I told her. Her face expression turns from joy to stern and serious. Moments pass before she said anything. "This early, you know there no turning back once you do?"

"Yea I know," I told her. I gave this a lot of thought and on the other hand becoming alpha is what Luke been dreaming of since he was a child. It was something he was born to do and I can't take that away from him. "It's not just about me."

She tilts her head to the side and smile at me. She made her way over to me and gave me a brother sister's hug. "Milo you're growing up."

"Yea, yea," hugging her back tightly. Our hug was interrupted by my mother carrying bags full of stuff. "Shopping?"

"Yes," she answered, putting the bags on the breakfast table. Nicole and I made our way over to her. "I had to get a few things for your ceremony robe."

I guess Luke's mother finally told her. I have been going over what's going to be done at my ceremony for the few days. To tell the truth I couldn't wait for it to be done and over with. Hopefully my life could get back to my normal routine which I doubt would happen. But there is always hope.

We headed to the living room to look at all the stuff that was for my ceremony. In the bags were precious white fabrics with strands of gold. Gold and clear colored gems she said was going to make the collar, shoulders and chest part of the robe. Gold ankle and wrist cuffs would be worn with the robe.

Then she took out an antique box. Symbols were carved on to it. I watch her handle the box with care, placing it on my lap. She told me that she been holding this for awhile. I stared at the box with such curiosity wondering what it hold within it. "Go on open it."

I nodded and slowing open the box. What it held took my breath away. A very detail Phoenix's holding a long clear crystal, with three smaller crystals on each side. It was the most beautiful necklace I've ever seen in my life.

"It's called the Bringer of Life, it's been in our family for generations."

"Mom it's wonderful." I told. She took it out of the box and put it on me to see if I like it. It fits perfectly on me. "I love it mom."

"That's good because it's yours now," I turn to look at her. She stood up and headed for the kitchen. "I had it when I was around your age. I thought because I was mated to a werewolf I wouldn't be able to have a child. But faith will have it to see you here."

"Mom."

"Now take care of it and you both get ready for dinner." That was the last thing she said before going around the corner.

That was a moment I will never forget. A moment with my mother that time will hold for me and her till the ends of time. I grab my box and ran upstairs to get ready for dinner.
