She stammered, unable to conceal her anxiety, "Sorry."
He says, "Take as much time as you need, Miss Kim."
"Do you mind if I..."
"You ask me now, after you have taken so much trouble to plug it in?" a flush appeared on her face. He's being a tease. That's what she hopes. Unsure of how to respond, she just blinks at him in the hopes that he will consider her situation and give in to her pleas. "No, I don't mind."
With the laptop turned to face her, she clicked to open the file containing one of her 3D sketches and ideas.
She turned the laptop toward him and swallowed a nervous "Sorry, here." She then smoothed a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "Ms. Kim, you have some rare talent in you. I am amazed by your skill and ideas," he says with a deadpan expression. She sits up straight in an attempt to appear taller and more menacing, but she cannot help but notice that her cheeks are starting to get hot. "T-thank you, Mr. Min."
"After witnessing your abilities, please tell me a little about yourself, your ideas, and the reason you applied to our company. Keep it brief." He pauses and fixes his intent gaze on her.
She really wants to tell him, "It is all in her portfolio. The only reason she is applying here is because they need a new secretary and idea creator. Since she loves their company and this is her dream—creating weapons—she takes it." And thanks for her brother's assistance.
"My name is Kim Minji, and I am 23 years old. I can assure you that, in addition to my skills and ideas, I can multitask and am a diligent, responsible individual. When I set my mind to something, I do whatever it takes to get it. The reason I applied is because you are looking—that is, it is my dream to be able to bring to life my ideas and creating, especially when it comes to weapons, and I want to work with the company that inspires me to keep going and know will help me grow and expand my ideas without jurisdiction and discrimination," she stated, grinning slightly.
"You know that people are the foundation of business, Miss Kim, and I appreciate your tenacity." He stops, clicks his tongue to the side, and gives her a dark-eyed stare.
Before she could even stop herself, the words "I know how business goes." slipped out of her mouth. She looks at him, only to see a gaze steadily darting towards her. Her heartbeat quickens, and her face flushes again.
She does not know why, but he does seem to unnerve her. Perhaps because of his extraordinary beauty... The way his eyes blaze. The way he strokes his index finger against his lower lip. That she hoped he would quit doing.
He smiles, flashing his flawless white teeth, and says, "That is fine, I like how you spoke."
Beautiful. He then took a quick look at her ideas and sketches. Subsequently, he said, "I enjoy building things. I am curious about how things function, so I look forward to learning about it. I will see you tomorrow, Ms. Kim, at 9 a.m. sharp. Do not be late." His mouth twitches, and he gives her an admiring look.
She began, "I do not understand Mr. Min, am I?" but stopped short when he spoke.
His lip curled into a wry smile that vanished as soon as someone knocked on his door, saying, "You are hired, Ms. Kim, and I look forward to working with you and your ideas."
"Mr. Min, I apologize for disturbing you, but Mr. Jung is waiting for you in the room for your next meeting, which is in two minutes."
"Good to hear, Carrie. Let them know I am on my way. We are almost done." Carrie bows and gently shuts the door, saying, "Very well, Mr. Min."
His dark orbs ablaze with curiosity, he places his elbows on the chair's arms and steeples his fingers in front of his mouth, saying, "So, Ms. Kim, I look forward to working with you again, and I want to know more about you." He has an incredibly distracting mouth.
"Yes, Mr. Min, I am too, but I want to clarify that not much about me needs to be known."
He mumbles, "I really would like to show you around, but I can not right now because I have a meeting to attend. I will talk to my assistant and ask him to take you around during the other day."
She grabs her purse and says, "I know you are way too busy, Mr. Min, but I can do it myself some other day without assistance. Thanks."
"The pleasure's been all mine," he says, polite as ever.
He stands as she gets up, reaches out, and opens the door wide while moving with a light, athletic grace. "Just ensuring you make it through the door without tripping, Miss Kim." He gives her a small smile.
She knows he's obviously referring to her elegant entry into his office. She says, "That is very considerate, Mr. Min," and he smiles more broadly. obnoxious attractive boy.
Stepping into the foyer, she grins to herself, pleased that he finds her funny and surprised that he followed her out again. Hoseok looks surprised. "Have you got your coat?" he inquires.
"Yes." Hoseok leaps up and retrieves her jacket, which he takes from him before he can hand it to you. As he raises it, she shrugs it off, feeling incredibly awkward.
She stands clumsily waiting as his long index finger presses the button to summon the elevator.
She quickly enters when the door opens. She noticed that he was leaning against the doorway when she turned to face him. He bids her farewell, saying, "See you tomorrow, Ms. Kim."
"The same goes to you, Mr. Min," she responds as the doors shut. Finally.
