Awakened Fates: The Beginning

Chapter 3: "The Risinium Attack"

     On the verge of defeat, Emmett decides to do something about it. He charges forward while the others try to stop him. He gets between his allies and enemies where he finally uses his trap card. He stands still and closes his eyes as enemies start to lunge at him. He closes his eyes long before opening it and summons soldiers to block off the lunging enemies. It is revealed that his trap card is called "Summoned Fate" which he uses to summon an army. He rarely uses this ability for it always leads him to go unconscious.

     Aria goes to Emmett to protect as Maximus charges forward with the army summoned by Emmett while Sparrow slows the enemies down. They manage to beat the incoming enemies with few casualties. Surprised, the figure claps and tells them well done. The figure decides to close the portals before leaving and saying that he'll be back for he finds it boring to see Emmett unconscious. Maximus starts to get confused about what has happened. He tells the soldiers to still evacuate the people as Aria and Sparrow bring Emmett to a nearby household.

CHAPTER 3-2: "Relentless War"

     A day later, Emmett awakens and sees Aria sleeping beside his bed. He realizes that his upper armor has been removed. He tries to move but he wakes Aria up instead. Aria looks at Emmett and sees him looking at her. "How are you feeling?" Aria asks Emmett. "I'm fine," he replies. The room is suddenly filled with an awkward feeling. "Let me get my upper armor." He tries to say to Aria but Aria gives him his upper armor before saying here you go.

     They both leave the household awkwardly. "Did you remove my armor?" Emmett asks Aria out of nowhere. "Yes, I did because the healer told me to," she replies. "Besides, it was awkward because we literally woke up looking at each other," she adds. "Not because my armor is off?" Emmett says. "I've seen enough people with your type of body," she replies. After that sudden event, the awkward feeling is gone for both decide to never speak of it again.

     When Maximus spots them, he approaches them. "A commander fainting during his duties" he says. "Not the first time to be honest," he adds. Emmett tries to apologize but is cut off by Maximus with him saying that next time he should tell them about his secret abilities. Emmett nods before Maximus discusses to him what has happened.

     "So he wants me awake during the chaos," Emmett says to himself. "But why though?" he adds. "Are the citizens still evacuated?" he asks Maximus. He nods as a reply which slightly relieves him. "Good. Let's keep them that way for now," Emmett says to Maximus. "Let's keep our guards up," he adds. Before they could start another conversation and even Maximus could reply, a portal opens in front of them which enrages Emmett and causes him to rant. Emmett and the others position themselves as the portal slowly grows.

     When it stops growing, the figure steps out. "Looks like you're finally awake," the figure says. "Since I don't what to see you become unconscious, I'll just send one portal at a time," he adds. "Who are you?" Emmett asks the figure. "I'm someone who'll lead to your death," the figure replies before laughing and disappearing before bidding his farewell. After he disappears, the portal starts to summon entities once again.

     Emmett starts to defend themselves from the upcoming entities. They prepared themselves but suddenly a spear is thrown right in front of them. "Looks like we're just in time," Miron says as he telekinetically grabs his spear back. Emmett looks back to find Miron, Alice, the Meranian and Gangresian armies, and his summoners.

     Seeing their sight, Emmett and the others become motivated and start to charge at the entities. "Defend the people at all cost!" Emmett shouts to the upcoming army and the others. With the help of reinforcement, they manage to hold their ground. As more enemies appear, more enemies are vanquished by the hands of the armies. With the help of the healers led by Alice, the mortality rate during the battles become less. Determined, Emmett tells the army to never falter. Many waves of enemies later, the portal stops summoning enemies. Knowing what had happened during the past, Emmett commands the others to stay in their position as Maximus, Aria, Sparrow, Miron, and Alice position themselves. Just as he expects, a familiar figure comes out of the portal.
