CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Start from the beginning

Both Suhyeon and Cheongsan had the same man on their minds, it was Gwi-nam but in a different situation. Cheongsan was recalling what he witnessed at the library and when he escaped from him because he really convinced himself that the bully is already dead.

While in Suhyeon’s psyche, the satisfaction on Gwi-nam, nonetheless sinister and wicked look on his face that he shot at her earlier keeps on replaying in her mind.

It was the same face that he had when the incident happened.

Although the memories continue to flashback, Suhyeon is proud of herself, of how she restrained herself. It is very similar to the first time she ever saw him after the catastrophe.

It reached the point where even her parents are not able to help her, at most times, only her twin brother can and was willing to do anything just to help and took responsibility for her. It was really bad. Suhyeon was very indifferent and in solitary from her male friends, but unhurriedly, her old self accomplished to go back with nominal assistance from Hyunjae.

Suhyeon cannot pinpoint how Hyunjae aided her, but, he really did.

Initially, Suhyeok was a bit pessimistic about Hyunjae because rumours were running around the Hyosan high school campus about him being a bully in his aforementioned high school in Seoul. Thus he interrogated Hyunjae, together with their other friends.

He can think of the frightened look on his face after catching a glimpse of six young men interrogating him.

In their defence, they just yearned for Suhyeon to get back to her former self, hence they joined Suhyeok.

And of course, after recognizing Hyunjae’s harmless and good intentions towards his younger sister, they let Hyunjae be friends with Suhyeon.

A few days later, the one thing they missed observing on Suhyeon came back. Her captivating smile.

She was filled with joy whenever Suhyeon is with him.

So, Suhyeok just let them. He doesn't know it either but, Hyunjae is the second male individual he exclusively entrusts to his twin younger sister’s life.

“What a nice song,”

Daesu playfully sneers as he swerves his head towards Hyoryung for a second, “You said it sucked.” He prompted the lady on his left, frowning his lips.

At the same, there is a naughty grin appears on Suhyeok’s face, the same with Hyunjae, Wujin, and Joonyeong.

The four of them shared a look.

“Now that I actually listened to it, I think it’s nice.” Hyoryung shyly admitted, obviously averting Daesu’s gazes.

All the while, On-jo’s curiousness leads her to ask Namra when she commenced smoking.

“Since the eighth grade.” Namra answered back, “I had no friends and no outlet to relieve stress.” She added, then she peeks at Suhyeon, who still is in deep thought.

On-jo breathe heavily, “Did you ever need a friend?” She questioned.

“I’m not sure. I can’t tell.” Namra answered without looking at On-jo.

“You always put up a wall. Those walls that Suhyeon was so eager to break but you didn’t let her.” On-jo indicated, which can be heard by everybody including Suhyeon who was set out of her mind with Hyunjae stroking her back when he caught a glimpse of her anxiousness.

“You always wore headphones and never said a word. Was it because you didn’t like us?” On-jo raised a question which made Namra shake her head towards Suhyeon and then back to On-jo.
