"Zayn, he's got a gun." Fiona yelled from the background with a loud sob and a deep voice echoed, shouting and cursing.

"Bitch!" I heard the click of a gun in the background.

"Don't shoot, please." Fatima pleaded with a shaky voice.

"Cut the line, woman."

"What the fuck is going on?" I yelled on top of my lungs.

"I'm begging you, let her go."
A gun went off, they screamed. Before the line got cut, I heard Fiona yelling out Fatima's name more than once then three sounds rang in my phone, letting me know the call was cut off.

I was already running out of the house, to the parking lot, my keys in my hands. I searched Fatima's phone but nothing came up, meaning her phone was already off. I tracked Fiona's phone and I found that they were at her house. What the hell are they doing there?

Fiona's house was an hour away and I was thirty minutes away, I had called Brandon and Kyle to meet me there. No security with me, I don't know how I forgot to tell them to follow me. A lot was going through my mind. Who had gotten shot between them? Were they okay? Those were the two most important women in my life. Before you ask, I may have or may have not fallen for Fatima but that's the story for another day. My life was complete for the first time in years. I loved the thought of coming home to someone, someone to hold, kiss, laugh with, argue, make love to. It was a whole new feeling but I love it and I was happy and satisfied with it.

Am I in love with Fatima? It was that day I finally came to a realization that I loved my wife and I did not want to lose her... -ever.

. . .

When I arrived at my destination, Brandon and Kyle were already there, we had decided to park at a distance so we wouldn't draw attention from the asshole inside with my girls. It was ten o'clock at night.
We didn't say anything to each other as we all rushed to the premises. Before we could get inside the yard, a gun fired. And no, it wasn't coming from inside the house, that was meant for us or me, because after that one shot, there were many shots and we had to hide. Thank fuck Brandon and Kyle brought some of our guys here. We shot back with determination. Men with masks came out shooting at us, it was chaos as we also shot back, killing most of them and them hitting a few of our guys. And then it was quiet.

I stood and approached them as they lay on the ground, I removed the mask from one and immediately recognized him. Fucking Marcelo, he used to work for me until he betrayed me for Anthonio. So Anthonio was behind all this shit. He fucking came after my sister and wife but never had the guts to face me head on.

"Oh, it's on, motherfucker. It is on." I turned to the guys and nodded for them to go inside, I was leading them there.

"Fiona! Fatima!" I called out as we got closer to the front door, my gun already pointing to the door.

"Zayn!" I heard Fiona's strangled voice calling out in panic. "Over here." I literally ran and kicked the door, rushing inside. The scene in front of me caused me to halt on my tracks. Fatima was laying in the pool of blood, unconscious. Fiona was kneeling next to her, holding her hand and keeping pressure on her stomach.

No. I hadn't noticed I had dropped my gun but when it landed on the floor with a thud. I snapped out of it and my feet moved on their own accord. I dropped on my knees. I reached for her and placed her head on my thighs, removing Fiona's hand to see the wound. The bastard had shot her on the left rib. I was no doctor but I could tell she took two bullets. Nothing could've ever prepared me for that moment, I was utterly dumbfounded, I had no words other than regret, regret because I let my father convince me that this marriage was a necessity, I regretted the fact that I let her in our lives knowing very well the disadvantages of being a Caruso. She didn't deserve it, we didn't deserve her. She was too good for us yet we brought her in this life.
