Time passes as it was the next day. You woke up from your sleep, you sat up from your bed and yawned, still feeling drowsy. Having enough energy, you stand up as you got yourself ready for the day and for the upcoming mission Brimstone has assigned for you. While you were brushing your teeth, you suddenly hear a knock on your door. You quickly brushed your teeth as you replied "Give me a minute!" you yelled. You changed from your sleeping clothes as you rushed to knock on the door, swinging the frame open to see a cheerful girl, smiling at you.
"Oh, good morning Neon!" You greeted.
"Magandang Umaga, C/N." Neon greeted back. (a/n: magandang umaga means good morning in filipino btw cause im pinoy and neon is pinoy as well so like yeah lmao)
"What's up? why'd you come here?" You asked.
"Well, Brimstone said he wanted you to come to his office and also I noticed something strange on your door by the way, did something happen?" Neon said, concerned.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Confused as you looked at the door to see scratched marks on the surface, making you feel pretty scared. "I don't even know what happened, but I'm sure it isn't that a big deal," you said, reassuring yourself and Neon.
"Alright well, I'll be heading over to the kitchen now, you better go quick to Brimstone before he starts yelling at you for being late." Neon spoke.
"Yeah I better go now, I'll see you later then." You said.
"Cya!" Neon waved goodbye before dashing through the hallways, quickly leaving your sight as you waved back. As Neon left, you began making your way to Brimstone's office, sprinting towards his office.

As you arrived at his office, you hear a masculine voice speaking up. "C/N, you're 1 minute late," Brimstone said. You sigh "I'm sorry, my bad." you apologized. Brimstone then nodded as he accepted your apology, he offered for you to sit down which you obliged. Brimstone began looking through a drawer as he pulled out a folder, placing the folder down on his desk. He opens the folder in which it reveals Yoru's information, skills, abilities, and statistics, as you looked at the item shown to you in a confused manner, a certain piece of info caught your eye.
"Ryo Kiritani, That's Yoru's real name?" You thought to yourself.
"C/N, I will be expecting your statistics of your ability would be more similar to Yoru's, your abilities can work together but you lack more strength and skill," Brimstone said bluntly.
"Seriously? That prick is stronger than I am?" You said, disappointed.
"Well, he has more experience in the protocol than you have." Brimstone pointed out.
"Tch, fair." You spoke.
"Anyways C/N, you will be heading out on a mission later this 10 pm so you should be prepared." Brimstone reminds.
You nodded "Alright."
You stood up as you headed outside of the room, walking out as you didn't forget to close the door behind you. You decided to go to the kitchen as you were starting to feel hungry, your stomach empty as you haven't had breakfast, you began walking towards the kitchen to find Sage and Cypher cooking meals for the agents of the VP. You smiled at them as you greeted them warmly.
"Hey Sage, hey Cypher!" You exclaimed.
"Good Morning C/N, you seem to be in a good mood today." Sage greeted back with a smile.
"Hello C/N, I made bacon and eggs for everyone. I hope you like them too." Cypher said as he handed out a plate of food, making your mouth watery already. "Wow, thanks Cypher! You guys are the best!" you beamed as you thanked them one more time before going to a table somewhere in the area to eat. After finding a table to sit at, you begin to eat peacefully, thinking about what to do after the mission.
As you were finished eating, you felt someone pat your back, you looked up to see Jett and Phoenix. "Hey C/N, me and pretty boy here are about to practice hand-to-hand combat, you wanna come and join us?" Jett said as she played with her knives using her wind ability. With Brimstone wanting to improve your strength you couldn't let the opportunity slip "Oh yeah sure, Brimstone insisted for me to have the same strength or whatever with Yoru. It's so dumb." You complained, making them both chuckle. "Excuse me?" An arrogant voice suddenly spoke up.
"Speak of the devil." You murmured. You darted your eyes to the cocky man as you glare at him with resentment, Yoru notices the look on your face as he spoke up "Dude what the hell is your problem?" Yoru says, clearly angry. "What is my problem? I'm literally just minding my own business!" You talked back, now standing up as you stomped your feet unconsciously and gave Yoru a death glare.
"Woah, Woah! You two need to fuck it out or something yeah?" Phoenix said.
"WHAT! DUDE HELL NO!" You practically screamed in unison.
"Chill C/N, it was just a joke!" Jett laughed.
"Phoenix I swear to fucking god I will beat you." Yoru groaned out in frustration.
"Yoru, C/N! Mission! Please go to the ship immediately! A spike is currently planted in Japan!" Sage interrupted in a panic.
"Oh, shit- SorryJettIgottagoOKAYBYE! " You said quickly as you begin to run with Sage and Yoru, sprinting towards a ship as you, Yoru, and Sage hopped in fast as the aircraft started, automatically heading towards the destination. While the ship is still ongoing, you began to prepare as you loaded your gun with ammo and made sure to pack more ammo in case you run out of it, Yoru and Sage prepared as well.
Finally, after arriving. You looked around the area below you to see a small civil neighborhood, Sage, Yoru and you both jumped down from the aircraft as you scanned around the area to find nothing suspicious so far. Yoru observed as an angry look was on his face "This neighborhood used to be way better without these Kingdom shit." He huffed out. You looked at the frustrated man, curious "You used to live here?" You asked Yoru. Yoru then looked at you, wanting to respond but backed down as he refused to talk about it, looking away as he continued to focus on the mission. "I'm just trying to ask a question, sheesh." You thought to yourself.
"Hey C/N, you think you can use your ability to locate the spike?" Sage asks.
You nodded to the kind girl as you used your spectating ability, while standing still you closed your eyes as you looked around the area, observing the place as you finally spotted the spike. You opened your eyes, finally done using your ability as you alerted the two agents with you "It's here!" you started to run fast as they followed behind, you continue to run as sprinted towards the spike that was planted.
As you were running, your eye was caught by a moving figure in the distance, as it ran away holding something in its hands, you assumed it was radianite. "Sage someone is here!" You shouted as the moving figure starts to run away as it gets away from your sight. "C/N, go after them! Me and Yoru will take care of the spike!" Sage replied as she pushes you to go after the mysterious person, you obeyed the request as you run after the person.
The person you were after was very fast, every time you were close to catching up to them you eventually start to lose them. Frustrated with the chase, you grabbed a smoke bomb that was attached to your belt as you threw it towards the person, the bomb begin to fog them as it distracted them. As it starts to fog around the targeted person, you held up your gun and you pointed the weapon toward them as you waited patiently for the individual to be revealed.
It didn't take too long for it to reveal... Jett?
"Jett, What are you doing here?!" You shrieked.
She didn't respond to your flabbergasted reaction as she chuckled "Hey, you should see the look on your face." You couldn't say anything as you felt betrayed. "Was she the one who planted the spike? But why?" You questioned yourself mentally as you were too distracted with your own thoughts, staring at the floor.
"YOU FUCKING IDIOT, GET OUT!" A masculine voice shouted.
You whipped your head to the source of sound to see Yoru pushing you aside as he pointed his gun and shoots towards Jett, unfortunately, the fast wind radiant got away easily with no damage, making Yoru groan in irritation.
"Why didn't you shoot?!" Yoru said in outrage.
"That was Jett, Excuse me!" You argued.
"No you dumbass, she was from the other earth!" Yoru argued back.
The Omega Earth? No way...
You felt a pang in your heart as you dipped your head down, clearly upset. You recalled how you lost your younger brother from Kingdom Co. as you were both sent to Omega Earth, you planned on escaping from there with your younger brother but things didn't go well. The horrible memory came crawling into your mind as your eyes begin to tear up, trying your best not to cry but it was hard to control your emotions as you teared up silently, staring at the ground still.
That was the incident that changed your life forever.
Abruptly, A cocky tone spoke up as you snapped. "What? You pissed?" Yoru taunted.
"Shut up." You quietly said.
"Ugh, god you're really annoying, how about you just suck it up, will you?" Yoru said.
"Yoru, can you not?!" You yelled as you looked at him with a glare, teary-eyed.
"Listen here, you didn't even get the Jett to cause your dumbass was just standing around and doing nothing, if you can't even get to chase after someone how about you just leave the Protocol," Yoru said as he pushed you slightly, making you almost slip up but manage to stand still.
"I thought that she was from this earth!" You replied.
"If you can use your brain to think of something then maybe you should've thought of not joining the protocol, you deserve to just get lost," Yoru rowed.
You already had enough of his egotistical and rude attitude, you were sick of him treating you like this. You started to lose control of your emotions as you spilled, "Yoru you don't even know what's it like back then before I joined the Protocol, I lost the only person I have who I considered who was close to me cause I was too selfish because all I wanted was to escape from Kingdom!" You shouted loudly, aggressively even as you sharply inhaled and exhaled from your outburst. You cried out even more as you sobbed, wiping the tears that were falling as it runs down your cheeks.
Yoru didn't know what to say as he kept quiet, Sage then chimed in "Hey did you guys manage to get the person?" She says as she looked at the situation in front of her, you standing silently as you faced the ground and Yoru looking away from you. "Let's just go... Did you defuse the spike already?" You sighed out and asked. Sage looked at you as she nodded, "Of course." she said. You then reply, "Okay, I'm going now." You said as you walked away from the two agents as you went to the aircraft. As you were on your way to the ship, Sage knew something happened between you and Yoru, she huffed out as she turned to Yoru, he stood awkwardly, combing his hair with his butterfly comb, and whistled to himself.
"Yoru, you got some explaining to do." She said, irritated.
