✴️Chapter 36✴️: Epilogue?

Start from the beginning

As an answer to her question, the Queen walked in. It was Queen Tamara. Her eyes were filled with tears as she walked towards her granddaughter, Tina and Tashie followed too, both wearing white t-shirts and Jean pants and looking twenty years younger. Like they were still in highschool.

"You're finally awake, Nora" They said to her, with glistening eyes as they walked towards her bed.

While Queen Tamara sat beside Nora's legs, Tashie and Tina knelt beside her bed.

"We thought you'd never wake up, Nora" Tashie told Nora, squeezing Nora's hand tightly.

"Tashie! It's been so long I saw you. How was your trip back? What of your husband?" Nora asked in excitement, for it has been long she had seen Tashie. But Tashie was taken aback and looked confused, but smiled to cover the awkwardness. "My husband?" She asked in confusion.

"Yeah. You and Olive got married, remember?" Nora reminded her, with a huge smile on her face. Tashie looked at Queen Tamara who shook her head in response, signaling her to play along.

"He's fine?" She replied unsure.

"Umm...Nora, are you okay?" Tina asked unsure, she hadn't seen the signal Queen Tamara passed across. That was enough to call Nora's attention towards her.

"Oh my goodness, Tina! I didn't see you there. How are you? What of Lisa and Molly?" Nora asked her, genuinely happy to see Tina.

"Lisa and Molly?" Tina repeated after her. She was now sure that Nora was definitely not okay.

"Your majesty, with all due respect, I think we need to call the doctor to check on her highness" Tina said to Queen Mary.

"Eleanora?" Nora heard her grandmother call her. She had seen her grandmother walk in but she thought it was her hallucinating again. So she was surprised to feel her grandmother's touch. Like she was real.

Nora touched her grandmother's cheek, which was already wet, a sad smile spread on her face, she told her grandmother "I'm happy to see you again, Grandma. But I never knew ghosts could feel so real"

"Tashie, call me the doctor" The grandmother ordered Tashie, her fear began to rise as the thought that Nora had lost her mind due to the accident crossed her mind.

"Am I in heaven? How come I can see and feel you?" Nora asked her grandmother.

"You've been asleep for too long my child. Far too long". Queen Tamara replied her grandchild.

"When did I die? How come I made heaven?" Nora continued to ask her grandmother who chuckled, patting her hand gently, she told her "I've never heard of heaven having hospitals. This is reality, my child. Reality. You've been unconscious far too long"

"Grandma, what about my children? Don't they want to see me?" Nora asked her grandmother, holding hands with her tightly like her life depended on it.

"What children? What does a seventeen years old girl need children for?" Her grandmother asked her, confused at her all her naive talking.

Seventeen? Nora thought. She was also confused. She didn't understand what was going on either.

"You asked to see me, your majesty" said the doctor as soon as he entered the room, Tashie coming in shortly after.

"Didn't you tell me she was getting better?" Queen Tamara questioned him.

"Yes, your majesty. She's getting better". The doctor replied.

"Help me check if her brain is in the right position. She's seems to be suffering from memory loss" Queen Tamara said to the doctor who walked over to Nora's side with a smile on his face.

"She might be a little confused. But I can assure you that she's fine". The doctor replied the Queen before turning to Nora.

"Okay, your highness. I'll be asking you a few questions. All you need to do is answer me. Are we good?" The doctor asked her. Nora confusedly shook her head. Hopefully, he has an answer to all of these.

"Okay, Do you recognize this woman sitting here?" The doctor asked, pointing at Queen Tamara. Nora nodded in affirmative.

"Okay. Who's she?"

"Queen Tamara"

"Glad to know you still remember me". Queen Tamara said to no one particularly.

"Do you remember what happened before you got here? Like any incidence that you think might have happened that landed you here?" The doctor asked her.

"Umm...It was Christmas. We were all playing snowballs out in the snow with the children. Some RBI officers came, we asked them to join us, Justin kissed me, Annabelle complained about the kiss and the next thing, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I guess I was shot? I didn't exactly know what happened but the last thing I saw was Justin's face" She replied them.

"It is finished!" Queen Tamara lamented.

"She'll be fine, your majesty" The doctor assured Queen Tamara before squatting before Eleanora.

"Your highness, sometimes, dreams appear so real, we feel like it's really happening. So when you woke up, you thought that you were still in your dream, you didn't realize that it was all a dream" The doctor said to her but Nora shook her head in disapproval.

"No. It was no dream. It really happened. Justin was there. Annabelle was there. Mary was there. They can all testify to it" Nora tried to convince them.

"Nora, seven months ago, while having an argument with her grace, Annabelle, you fell from the top floor of a four story building. Even though it's a surprise you're still alive but you've been unconscious since that very day" Tina tried to convince her.

"What are you talking about? It was real! It happened. It happened to me! I can swear to that!" Nora defended.

"She seems to be getting things muddled up. Your majesty, with all due respect, may I suggest we leave her to herself for a while so she can get things figured out?" The doctor suggested.

"Her eighteenth birthday is in a month time. Ever since we were told that she was awake, we've been preparing for her eighteenth birthday. In this state she is, will she be able to celebrate her eighteenth birthday with us?" Queen Tamara asked the doctor.

"We've had quite a few cases like this, your majesty. It caused a little trauma for those patients but because of individual differences, we can say that she'd be better. She just needs some time alone. Let's see how she is in a few days time" The doctor assured them while escorting the Queen and Nora's best friends out of the room.

Nora's fingers roughly went through her hair as she tried to figure out what was going on. She laid down on her bed, as she tried to figure out what was going on.

Why must I always be compared to you? We're both princesses but why must you receive a better treatment than me?

I hate you, Eleanora! I despise you to my guts.

Those words rang in Nora's ears. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember who said those words but she could hear the words clearly.

Your highness, sometimes, dreams appear so real, we feel like it's really happening. So when you woke up, you thought that you were still in your dream, you didn't realize that it was all a dream

I definitely wasn't expecting this ending. You're one of the best authors i know 😍😘
