Dean was now wondering who's side he should be on. But, he concluded that there were more pressing issues to deal with when he caught sight of the vampire stalking up behind Rain. He went in for the kill, but was shocked whenever Rain caught his wrist in the air, just before he landed the blow.

"Don't," they said lowly, almost guttural.

He drew back his hand, as the other vamp went to stand beside Rain.

"Hey, I'm Layla by the way," she said casually.

"Wait...your ex?" Dean asked Rain.

"Wow, so you actually listen."

"I thought you said she died?"

"You're friends with this idiot?" Layla whispered to Rain, clearly wanting Dean to know what she'd said.

Rain shook their head. "Well, obviously she did die, just not because of me like I had thought. After I fled the scene, she apparently was still conscious enough to rub the remaining vamp blood into the bite on her neck."

"That's not what happened. I literally told you I put my cut hand into it," she corrected.

Rain looked like they were about to drop kick Layla. "Same difference," they muttered through gritted teeth.

"Okay," Dean said, trying to wrap his head around everything. "But can we trust her?"

"Not sure. She hasn't given me a reason to."

Layla looked taken aback. "Bitch, literally just shut up. Like, who even gave you the right? I could literally kill you right now if I wanted to. I dare you to take me on! Oh, yeah, you're against violence aren't you? Sorry, I forgot. It doesn't exactly show now that you're a bloodsucker."

Rain glanced at the ground. "You were always so rude. You did this to me, and that especially doesn't give you the right to criticize me. Since that night, I've been good. Can you honestly look me in the eyes and say that you have too? Because I don't think you can."

"Actually, I can, but only because a hunter had already been tracking me and killed me only a few moments after I turned. I thought they'd go after you too, but I guess not."

"Good." Rain seemed satisfied. "Dean, you were looking for Benny. Let's go find him, okay?"

"Okay."

Another month passed them by. Dean's hope of ever finding Benny was at an all-time low.

"You're lucky your still alive," Rain said to Layla. Even they were at their breaking point. "You can't just come back into my life out of nowhere and expect me to suddenly love you again."

Honestly, Dean wouldn't mind losing Layla. He'd had enough of her antics. The whole time, she'd just caused them more harm than good. The arguments that ensued at practically every moment between her and Rain were definitely not pleasant, but when they got loud and violent was when Dean considered offing her himself.

"Where the hell did you pull that from? All I said was that I still have feelings for you. Like, chill."

"I am chill. I just don't know why you'd even say anything if you didn't expect something to come from it."

"Maybe I did." Layla shrugged. "Where's the harm in that?"

Rain stopped walking and Dean nearly ran into them. "I told you several times; I'm in a relationship. Yeah, it might be a little complex and difficult to understand sometimes, but we make it work. I don't know what I would've done without Sandy, and Aria isn't afraid to do what she loves and stand up for herself and that's why I fell for her. So, stop trying to be a home wrecker and move on already."
