Chapter 1:My name's Shye

Start from the beginning

I put my blonde hair up into a messy ponytail, tied my white sneakers and went for my run. Running helps me clear my mind. To be honest general exercise helps me clear my mind. Sometimes it's dangerous for me to exercise too much or for long periods of time because I'll get out of breath quickly, and sometimes light-headed, but it's not fatal. In fact exercising is actually good for managing my anemia. I finished my run and headed back to the apartment praying that dad was still asleep. Luckily he was. I carefully unlocked the door and headed straight up to the bathroom to have a shower. Our shower had barely any water pressure, but it kept me clean. I had tried to talk to the landlord about it, but he just looks at me like I'm a silly little girl. I gave my hair a quick wash as well as covering myself in my strawberry scented body wash. I came out of the shower and looked down at my phone. ~6:30am~ School didn't start until 8:30, but I usually stopped by the public library on my way there. I headed into my bedroom and began to get ready for school. I put on my strawberry scented body lotion, dried my hair and put on my underwear before I went to pick an outfit. As I passed by my mirror I sighed, the bruises up my arms and legs were too dark to cover with makeup. Since I was anemic I bruised really easily so when my dad hits me with full force my pale skin suddenly becomes dark purple. I sighed out and went in my closet to pick an outfit for the day.

By the time I was ready to leave it was 7:30. I quickly sprayed on some strawberry perfume as I left my bedroom. I had an hour until school started, so I would have just enough time to stop by the library. I grabbed my headphones, my bag, my keys and headed out of the apartment.

As I headed down the stairs of the apartment block I heard someone call my name from up above. "Shye Rucchi, what are you doing up so early?" It was one of the old women from upstairs. Mrs Bianchi, she was a sweet old woman, she knew what kind of man my father was and if I ever needed it she offered me a place to stay in her daughter's old room. Her daughter went away to Paris to be with her boyfriend and forgot all about her mother. I often went around just to talk to her and keep her company. I saw her as a grandmother. Sometimes she'd drop food off at my apartment when she knew I hadn't eaten or sometimes I'd bring her groceries back with my own. "Non preoccuparti (Don't worry), I'm just heading to the library and then to school," I called up giving her a reassuring smile.
"Ok stai attenta principessa (be careful princess)," she called back down to me and then she went back in the door of her apartment. I put my headphones on and walked out of the bulding. My mother was from Italy and she started teaching me Italian from when I started talking. When she died, I promised to keep it up and now I can speak it fluently. I started walking to the library watching the sunrise as I ventured on.

I walked up to school, getting a looks and stares, but I couldn't care less

I walked up to school, getting a looks and stares, but I couldn't care less. I didn't talk to anyone, they knew I could talk because they've heard me the rare times I talk in lesson to teachers, so they all think I'm just shy and I pick and choose when I talk, so most if them leave me alone. Take note how I said most there were some who went out of their way to make my life hell. It seemed that everyone was buzzing about something today. Everybody was chatting about some new kids joining. Some of them would be in my grade and apparently they were very attractive. I'll have to take other people's word for it. I headed straight to my locker and as I was putting my things away I heard my name ring out on the intercom. "Would Shye Rucchi please come to the principal's office immediately." I felt all eyes in the hallway turn on me. I never got called to principal's office so people found it shocking that all of a sudden I was getting called in there. I closed my locker and headed down the hallway towards the principal's office. I kocked on the door and entered. "Good morning Shye, now I bet you're wondering why I asked to see you this morning," he spoke to me form across his desk. I nodded my head. All the teachers knew about my situations and the would never force me to speak unless absolutely nessercary. "I'll be blunt, Shye we have some new students coming in today and we need to make a good impression, you are the best student at this institution both academically and your behaviour, this makes you the perfect person for them to be around. They will be getting a tour this morning one if them will show up in your 3rd period class, it'll be your job to make them feel welcome and look after them for a couple of days, now I know you're not one to talk to people Shye, but we really need a good impression." I nodded and I even gave him an answer to reassure him because he seemed really stressed. "I'll help the best I can," I said softly giving him a small smile making him sigh in relief.
"Thank you very much Miss Rucchi," I nodded and excused myself with a small wave. As I headed over to my first period I wondered who these new students were. They must be important if the principal was that stressed about it. My math class was third period, so I still had a couple of hours left alone. I entered my art classroom and got a few questioning glances, but then the teacher began to speak pulling everyone's attention off me as I sat at the canvas closest to the corner.
~Timeskip to third period~
I was currently sat in the back of my math class taking notes when the door opened and the principal entered with a tall boy, with broad shoulders, a muscular build and dark chocolate coloured hair. He was wearing a simple outfit, but he still looked amazing. I could tell he was wealthy, but he didn't feel the need to flaunt it. He had caramel tanned skin and beautiful brown eyes that you could drown in. His whole body oozed power. He was definitely new, I would remember someone that attractive. Everyone in the classroom was staring at this boy, to be honest he looked like the nocholant type, but I knew he wasn't. I could read people really well and I saw in his eyes that he had a good soul. "Good morning class, I would like to introduce you to your new classmate Sin Ferrari, I would like you to make him feel welcome, everyone." Sin Ferrari huh? Heir to the Ferrari mafia I presume. There were a lot of gasps around the classroom, but Sin gave a friendly wave.
"Nice to meet you all," he announced to the class, his voice husky laced with a very strong Italian accent much like mine. Some girls sat up to attention batting their eyelashes at him while some of the guys laid protective arms over their girlfriends shoulders. "Mr Ferrari why don't you take a seat next to Miss Rucchi in the back," the principal said pointing to me. I felt Sin's eyes stop on me as he made his way over to the seat beside me. Many of the girls and even some guys gave me death glares as I sat at the back of the class. The principal left the room with a nod to me and the math teacher carried on with her lesson. Soon everyone's focus had left me, but I was consumed by Sin's manly musky scent. "Hey, the principal said you're supposed to be looking after me and my friends for a couple days right?" he spoke at a low whisper. I gave him soft nod and a small friendly smile. I wasn't good with meeting new people. "Not much of a talker are you, Angel?" He said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes playfully. Angel huh? I kinda liked it.
"So can't you talk?"
I shook my head, "You can then why don't you?" I tapped my nose playfully. "You want me to keep my nose outta your business huh?" I rose my eyebrow and smirked back at him. He chuckled softly. "Ok, ok, you've got a fire about you, I like it." He said his attention on me, "Ok one more question and I won't pressure you to talk to me, I understand you just fine when you don't speak." I widened my eyes in surprise. Usually people try and pressure me to talk until they realise I just won't. Sin seemed genuine and it made me smile to know he respected me. I gave him another nod. "What's your name, unless you want me to keep calling you Angel?" I gave him another eyeroll. "It's only fair since you know mine." He said smugly. Well he wasn't wrong, he had me there. I took a deep breath and spoke to him. "My name's Shye."
Hope you liked it, if you have any feedback feel free to leave it in the comments they really do help and I read them all. See you soon my lovelies. xoxo
